L: hai, sensei.
Leo smacked mike on the arm. He and Jaime had been having a staring contest. Thanks to Leo's intervention, Jaime won. Mike blinked a few times then followed his brother to the kitchen for some chairs.
M: right. i'm comin'.

Emilio accepted the armchair with a nod of thanks.
E: We ate with Colibri. Thank you, but further meals are unnecessary. Do not let us stop you, if your family hungers. (He smiled) We no longer do.
(in a swift change of subject, he gestured towards the girls.)

Two of the little ones who had been fidgetting in the corner with their mother, making faces at each other and kya from around their mother's skirts suddenly bolted forward like hounds out of the gate.

Emilio smiled indulgently as the youngest skidded to a halt directly in front of Splinter and after a big grin stood there and stared. The second one was taller, almost to Kya's shoulder. She'd slowed as ahe approached and came up behind her sister. She glanced over at Kya and bit her lip as she smiled, before she turned back to Splinter.

E: the six year old is Victoria. Elidia, behind her, is 8. You know my Colibri. (He gently pulled Kya to the side of his armchair) And the lovely woman is Belen, my wife.

The woman standing in the back came foward. She was a short, round lady. kya must've gotten her thin frame from her father and her height from her mother. As Belen came further into the room and the light it became obvious she was carrying an infant in her arms.

E: the baby's name is Raquel.

Victoria, who'd been staring at splinter all this time, took her finger out of her mouth and giggled quietly.
V: (whispered LOUDLY to elidia) he dicho que fuera un raton muy grande. como "mickey"...

*Splinter smiled and nodded to each as they were introduced. His heart wrenched as he looked at the baby, and the children who had hid behind their mothers skirt originially. All taken so young. It made him realize how happy he was that all his children were still with him, and had had the chance to grow into adulthood. his smile widened as Victoria whispered to the other girl. He wasn't sure what they were talking about, but he knew he was the subject. It did not bother him.*

*Kameko grumbled to herself as she finished her dinner and set the plate and glass aside*

Why do I have to be such an ASS? Geez, I'm almost as bad as Raphael, lately... And what the hell is that noise....?

*She suddenly remembered Kya's plans for the night.*

Oh, geez, her family's here. Wonder if I can make myself presentable enough to meet them... Geez, I'm actually WANTING to meet a bunch of dead people!

*With a sigh, she dug through the pile of clean clothes on her bed, and came up with a clean pair of green cotton sports-pants and a green t-shirt.*

Well, I don't exactly have any dressy stuff... This'll have to do... 'least it's clean... and, amazingly, not very wrinkled...

*She dressed quickly and grabbed her brush from the nightstand, which still sported some of her blood.*

Wonderful. More clean up.

*Brushing her hair far better than usual, until it actually almost lay straight, then straightened her bandana and pulled on a clean pair of green tabis.*

Sheesh, good thing I ain't goin' to a fashion show...... I gotta at LEAST get some better pants.... Waitaminute, since when do I care about my appearance?? I'm losin' it.... Oh well. Show time.

*leaves her room, buckling her belt as she does so, and starts down the hallway towards the living room, which seemed to be the source of the voices.*

Leo and Mike had returned with the chairs and it seemed that the formal introductions had been concluded. Emilio sat speaking quietly with splinter and Kya was conducting a looser set of introductions over by the sofa. Belen had taken Leo's seat next to Vespera and in softly accented english introduced herself and the baby.

Belen: I am Colibri's mother, Belen; this is her baby sister, Raquel. (she smiled in a bemused sort of way) I'm glad to see that Splinter's daughter does not share his sons' strong complexcions.... You are a lovely child.

kya was seated directly next to her mother, Elidia on the floor between Kya's legs. Elidia had wanted to sit in kya's lap, but was far to big for that now. As it was, she was at the perfect height for her older sister to play with her hair.

Donatello sat on the floor, and unintentionally put himself right on head level with Victoria, who'd become bored with the "Raton muy grande." She stood and stared at him for a moment, before she broke into a impromtu "dance" just for his befit. Three spins later, she laughed happily and fell/sat down directly across from him. She solemnly announced, "ERES TORTUGA."

VIC: (looking past Elidia's bowed head to Kya who was finishing a frizzy french braid in Elidia's hair.) COL!!! COL? por que estas viviendo con tortuga? Y donde esta Rafael? Dijiste que el vivia contigo. Quiero conocerle al angel!

kya paused and spoke without looking up.
kya: ingles, Victoria. Usa ingles. (tying off the braid and looking up) Use English. And it's rude to speak as though your HOSTS were not right there. (she smiled) His name is Donatello, try asking HIM your questions.

Victoria frowned for a second and then brightenned visibly. Spinning to face Donatello, she launched a new string of questions.
VIC: you're a turtle, you know that, right? I'm ALMOST six. Why don't you have any hair? does your head get cold? Can you pull into your shell? Can i see? (she looked up and saw Leo setting up the chairs) Why don't you wear clothes?

Mike (done with the chairs, but choosing to sit on the floor next to Jaime) So, little dude, is she ALWAYS like that?

Jaime nodded slowly.
Jaime: unless she's asleep... then she talks REALLY fast.

(((trans: ERES TORTUGA. -- YOU'RE A TURTLE.
COL!!! COL? por que estas viviendo con tortuga? -- COL!!! COL? Why are you living with a turtle?
Y donde esta Rafael? -- and where is Rafael?

*Smiling, she edges over to where Kya is sitting, and quietly asks:* So, Kya, you gonna play hair-dresser all night or are ya gonna introduce me?

kya turns sharply at the voice suddenly talking in her ear.
Kya: OH! Kamita! (smiling) Feeling better about things? I'll intrduce you right now.

Kya: (tapping Belen on the shoulder) Con Permiso, Madre... I'd like you to meet Kameko. She's my adopted sister. (to Kameko) this is my mother, Belen.

The lady speaking to Vespera, turned at smiled a warm welcome to Kameko.
Belen (soft accent) Pleased to meet you, Kameko. ...these are Colibri's little sisters: Victoria, Elidia, and baby Raquel.... Her brother Jaime is over there...

V: (to elidia) she's got a boo-boo.

Leo had not been sure what to think of Kya's father. He was arrogant, treating his family like objects... but he clearly cared about them deeply and was proud of them. Leo chalked it up to a cultural difference, but he still didn't like it. His gut clentched when Kameko walked in.

L (unobtrusively making his way to Kameko's side --INTERNAL) great. just great. She's gonna make WAVES if she just strides up to Gastelum-san and sticks her hand out. I don't think i've ever met some one who so openly EVALUATES people.... well, other than Raph. She'll make Splinter look weak or something.... gah. (he stopped next to her and tried to figure out what to tell her.) ... I don't want her to pretend to be meek. That would be ridiculous... she is who she IS, regardless of kya's ...or Colibri?'s dad....

L: (waiting for the introductions to the children to conclude) eh-hem. (low voice) Kameko, that's Kya's dad up there. He seems pretty formal. I'd ask Master Splinter to introduce you before you start playin' with the kids.

~I hate this formal ****. They always try to make females look like... I dunno, objects, lesser beings... {mental sigh} But I don't want to ruin Kya's reunion... Guess I can try to stomach being a 'lowly woman' for a few hours... But I'll be damned if I'm gonna act like I'm a lesser person than my brothers just because I'm female....~

Emilio ran his eyes across her frame in a cursory inspection. He nodded with detached politeness. If he was impressed, he did not show it, but the way his eyes lingered on the bandage on her forehead indicated that he was thinking something.

E: Lovely, Don Splinter. You house is indeed a FULL one. However do you manage to keep them all living harmoniously together?... Children are difficult at the best of times, and doubly so when they become old enough to do real damage....

Emilio wore a look of genuine concern as his eyes flickered breifly from Kameko's obvious wounds to the hole in the wall and then settled with deeping worry on Kya, who was playing a clapping game with Victoria.

SP: *followed Emilio's eyes to the wounds on Kame and briefly wondered whether or not the man thought one of his sons injured her or if he himself did it. It didnt matter. Either way he was now obviously and justifiably concerned for Kya* With so many children, harmoniously is a bit too much to hope for all the time, Gastelum-san. However, my children know what is expected of them and over the years, loving discipline has taught them that. They are not always perfect, but *smiles a bit* ...what children are?

Emilio nodded slowly, agreeing with the words, but clearly still holding his judgement in the matter.

Elidia, hair neatly pulled back, leaned towards kya.
E: (low voice) who was she again?

Kya: my new sister.

E: (scrunching her face in thought) that mean... she's OUR new sister too?

V: (all but shouted) NEW SISTER!! (she sprints to kameko and does clapping dance at her feet) NEW SISSY NEW SISSY BOO_BOO!!! COME PLAAAAY! (she snagged Kameko's hand and dragged her back to where Elidia was thoughtfull running her fingers around the ridges in the back of Mike's shell.)

Emilio smiled quietly as his second youngest claimed a new playmate.

Elidia was growing bolder as the evening wore on, and of course, there was NEVER any stopping Victoria. The two of them had annexed Kameko as their "new sister."

E: (bossy in the way that only 8 yrolds can mange) We're gonna play a GAME! (victoria was idly tying knots in the ends of Mike's bandana) We're gonna CARBON_DATE this TURTLE.

kya chuckled. Elidia hadn't the FIRST CLUE what "carbon-dating" was....

V: (looking up from the knots) huh?

E: ... uhm ... We're gonna find out how OLD his is by COUNTING THE RINGS on his shell. (smugly secure in her scientific decision)

kya laughed at the scene and knowing that mike was for all intensive purposes, Elidia's new "project."
