this animation for super shredder is for a win pose, a super or are you going to make a super shredder too (and it's a before fight transformation)?

This animation is for a Hyper where Shredder transforms and then you play as Super Shredder for a limited duration.

Classic 3 frame NES walk animation + basic attacks.

He'll be slow moving and won't be able to jump but he'll also have super-armour, stronger attacks and cannot be knocked down or placed into custom states by the opponent. If Shredder's health drops to zero while in Super Shredder form you'll get the Super Shredder death animation from Manhattan Project (where he drops to his knees).

And this is the tentative animation for Shredder's super attack where him and a clone both attack the opponent on both sides (like Morrigan's Darkness Illusion attack from Darkstalkers).

I was thinking that the final slash should actually travel through the opponent and destroy the clone, knocking his helmet off in the process to identify him as the copy as an homage to the first arcade game:

What do you guys think?

It's a nice touch, going through him and knocking the helmet off... and if you added a little separation between head an body you would be paying homage to mirage too! haha just kidding, that maybe, would be too much. Although if you go through him, maybe this "illusion" could be tore apart at the end like paper... i don't know if i 'm making myself clear here, wish i could think of an example...
The only other thing i can think of, is a falling helmet animation. that's possible right?

Yes, this is just the old arcade palette. I have the Mirage comics palette as well. His entire face is in shadow when the helmet comes off for that mysterious faceless Shredder from the old books.

Do you mean like sliced in half? Or shredded into paper pieces?

Yes! The helmet falls off and spins, I didn't include it in the anim but it'll be in the character for certain!

Custom sprited the TMNT's female counterparts for when they're hit by the gender swapping Midnight Bliss attack!

In addition to Krang's Krangazoid sprite, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello's counterparts are complete thus far. Their Midnight Bliss forms being Venus de Milo from the 1997 Next Mutation live action series, Mona Lisa from the 1987 toon, Horridus from Image Comics and Irma also from the 1987 toon.

NES Tournament Fighters Hikoki Throw

I also got a little creative with official sprites from Hyperstone Heist and NES Tournament Fighters I've made some new "Dizzy birdies" for when the characters get stunned. Instead of the classic birdies or stars they're circling characters from TMNT lore. Shredder's has the four Yoshi Bros. and Krang's has Shredder Mike and Casey.

thinking of ideas for "dizzy pose"?

Ninjara would be a good Raph counterpart as well.

I think Venus should be more of a cyan than straight-up blue.

Ooh, you linked to Fight-A-Base. Groovy.

You're right, if I were making a unique Venus character I would use her proper Cyan colored accoutrements but since its part of Leonardo's character it shares his color palette. Similarly Mona Lisa's neck scarf should be pink, not red like Raphael's bandana. Looks fine in-game though.

This looks amazing. I've heard of Mugen before, but I was never really motivated to figure out how to set it up. This might just do it though.

here's a small video recap of some more progress.
Added custom intros and throw attacks for Shredder, special hit states to the turtles finalized Krang's hyper attack.

I try not to use the word, but "EPIC" truly suits the climax to that fight. Really impressive stuff.

dcat, I like how you made Shredder's facemask move when he talks. That's something very rarely seen in cartoons and games, but it adds a lot to the energy of the intro.
