Only thing that puzzled me was Don learning about the Kraangs heist from April... Why would she know?

I mean, if they establish in a later episode maybe that she's researching them on the internet or something... Maybe a nod to her OT newsreporter roots, which would be cool with me. She starts a blog or something reporting happenings with the Kraang to help the Turtles find her Dad and stuff.

Of course for that even to work out it would mean the Kraangs have to be pretending to be some kind of business upfront or something...

Spiderbytes is an interesting new villain for sure... I don't mind yet another new mutant appearing as right now we're working on giving the TMNT villains to fight.

Great show, this series has far exceeded my expectations. The action/fighting is on par with 4Kids.

It's things like that which make me smile and feel like the property truly is in good hands.

Kids watching the show won't have a clue what that means for another decade or so, if ever.

Christ, haven't posted here in years. Maybe I need to get back into the swing of things.

Love the new show so far. Surprised me to say the least, went in with very low expectations.

Not sure whether it borrowed from the comics, but I'm glad to see that aspect carried over too. It even has the same "river over a stone" analogy, if I recall correctly...

Is that confirmed? I'd be okay with it, but I'm starting to like the idea of a "hive mind" type Kraang. It would make sense since they aren't a species with a physical advantage.

Probably more budget constraints rather than laziness. I didn't think it was distracting.

I'm not a huge fan of a mutant of the week formula, but it doesn't have to mean the entire show is repetitive. Even if the episode's plot with Spider Bytez was (as far as we know) inconsequential, the writing is strong, and I found myself fully entertained nonetheless. That's certainly more important than if the main plot progressed but I couldn't care less. Even with the (perceived) formula, we still saw a lot of great character growth with Raphael, and a few more important bits of Splinter's back story. It's okay to take their time (they do have 26 episodes to fill, after all), so long as they keep it entertaining, I've got no complaints! 4Kids will probably have stronger continuity, but the writing is much better in this show, in my opinion.

Who knows? It's certainly not impossible, especially since we don't see what she's doing off screen, so until we see something that directly contradicts, I'd say roll with it Maybe she's been doing research on her father's kidnappers and stumbled upon something, as another poster suggested. Just because it's not flat out fed to us doesn't mean there can't be a good reason.

The guy was pretty old. Just as my mom is "aware" of camera phones, that doesn't mean he necessarily knows how to upload it Youtube. Plus, it seems like they went back up to the surface the same night, so it's not impossible that he didn't get around to making a copy just yet. Or maybe he did and it will come to light later?? Again, not something so unthinkable that it's distracting.

They are teenaged brothers who have had to deal with Raph their whole lives. This was perfectly realistic to me. I admit I was initially a little uncomfortable that Splinter would allow the turtles to cut loose like that, but I realized that, if anything, this is an episode all about how to deal with bullying. "Let it wash over you like a stone." Sure, bullying is bad, but I think how to deal with a bully is more valuable information to kids than "bullying is bad." No need to hold their hands, most kids are smart enough to understand that.

Already did that in the 2 part pilot. No need to retread that plot point.

I doubt she told him anything really big

she may of just told him about the lab that her father worked at, or one of the other scientists that he worked with that may be targeted by The Kraang

God, the sequence where the the Turtles are trailing the Kraang's car without Raph is just beautiful. The movement and soundtrack in this show are amazing.

Also, lol'd at "Spike, eat your leaf if you want to hear a story" and the one Kraang verbosely talking about how handsome they look in the video.

You know what, though? This episode would actually have been stronger without a mutant villain. And I see they're still in no hurry to flesh out April, which may or may not become a problem.

I like that this is officially "Spider Bytez" (spelling taken from the credits), the 2012 version of the unreleased figure-cum-minor BTTS villain. Using a really obscure character like that right out the gate makes me happy.

I just watched the first 3 episodes for the first time and they were great. It was good to have Lewis Black doing the voice of Spider Bytez, his character Vic slightly reminded me of Muckman from the original series.
I was worried that i would be disappointed by the new series but, im loving it so far. It really makes me want to buy all of the figures, its (hopefully) not long until they are released in the UK.
It would be good to see a Spider Bytez figure.

Although this is a good episode, it's a terrible 2nd episode. It is way too similar to the premiere and just feels like filler. Already. Shunt it down the lineup, is all I'm saying.

That said, the episode itself was pretty funny. The voice actors are really bringing it home, and how is it that Splinter is the funniest, awesome. And as already mentioned the action also is well choreographed.

However, the Kraang lair must be the easiest fortress ever to break into.

"Let me tell you a story," is the opening line to every issue published under the Tales of the TMNT banner.

Here, though, I'm not convinced it was intentional. It definitely could be, given the other little Mirage nods, but it's also a phrase that could pop up on its own.

Yes he was very well played. I particularly liked the kung-fu frogs because everytime he said it, or just called the Turtles frogs in general, all I could think about was the 2007 movie and how everybody kept saying they looked like frogs. A very nice touch overall and more evidence that the show is run by people who know the franchise

They didn't look like frogs in the 4th movie. And in the old show they were mistaken for salamanders, frogs and other lizards too.

I didn't think they looked like frogs in the film either, but I read plenty of reviews and have seen many comments where people felt that the CG models of TMNT made them look like frogs. Considering this is also CGI I interpreted it as a reference to that.

Yeah I feel the same way, they used the same formula already, it’s like there in a hurry to sell the new figures by introducing new villains. I hope this doesn’t get repetitive like in power rangers or something.

By the way it kinda hurts that they are introducing all this random mutants and they don't add bebop and Rocksteady.
