Finally saw the film today. Even though Han's death was spoiled for me online, it still packed an emotional punch right in the feels.

Great stuff. Bring on the next film.

I highly doubt Finn was or will ever become a Jedi. Rey is the one able to use the Force, Finn is just an ordinary joe.

I feel as though there would have been at least some minor foreshadowing of his potential to use the Force if that was a possibility. But that's just me.

What makes people think Finn is Force sensitive at all? I though it was pretty clear he wasn't.

I don't see him as a jedi. The picking up a light saber I felt was done to show he is not one, but a capable resistance soldier. Rey is force sensitive and actually beat Kylo Reno without any training. The difference in how they fared was one was force sensitive and the other was not.

Yeah, anyone can us a lightsaber, the only thing is if the person is force sensitive, they have the advantage over a non force sensitive lightsaber wielding person.

someone whose force sensitive will have much faster reflexes then someone who isn't.

I'm interested to see if Poe is force sensitive. If you read Shattered Empire, you see his mother aid Luke in recovering pieces of a special tree that Palpatine stole from the Jedi temple on Coruscant. Then Luke gives her a branch and the house Poe is raised in has that tree in his yard his whole life.

I'm willing to bet there's some significance to that.

Having seen the film for the third time, I think it may be in my top 3 Star Wars films. I wonder if Episode VIII will open with Rey training with Luke?

It will start at the island since the filming for the early part is already done because the Irish isle Michael Krileg (sp?) is only available for a certain time frame of the year. We know Luke, Chewie, and Rey will have at least a scene on Episode 8 there.

I will admit, I was hoping to see the old trio have a seen together. I was also hoping that Rey, Finn, and Poe would interact (Maybe we'll see them interact in the next one?).

Thank goodness we only have to wait a year and a half for Episode VIII and will have Rogue One to tide us over.

Pretty sure Finn is the new Han Solo; heroic, badass, questionable background, and NOT a Jedi or Force user.

Example: Han used a lightsaber once and is most obviously NOT Jedi. (RIP Tauntaun.)

Edit: Like many movies including the upcoming Ninja turtles sequel there is a working title before it is finalized in post-production. Star Wars Episode 7 is not different. It was originally titled Shadow of The Empire before it was given its official title.

So is Leia a Jedi? If not why wouldn't she be one?

Why did she drop her princess/royalty title - shouldn't she be a Queen by now? Like Amidala got to be a Queen in her teens but not Leia? "General" title is so below her lol.

The role of queen was an elected title that a term and she served it. Just as she would become a senator and serve in that office like she did as queen before that. It has never been said the nature of Leia's title of princess. She could be like the princess of old day laws or by elected means. Remember her step-father was an elected senator just like her mother was following her elected office of queen. The planet she was raised on was blown up 34 years before anyway. Leia decided not to become a Jedi because she felt she could use her skill set in a different way. While her brother reestablished the Jedi Order she did what fit her better, leader of a military unit. She ask been shown to be a savvy strategist in the films and in the new Marvel Comics capable of leading several men. That is why she is a general opposed to a Jedi. I did feel like the title of general was thrown around a little too much in the original trilogy with both Han and Lando jumping in taking the title as well. However, it does seem she is the unquestionable leader of the Republic's military unit.
