Is the marth amiibo discontinued or just short packed? I was hoping someone would pick him up for christmas for me.

Short packed so far… only one per box… Target is the best place to look.

surprising since majority of people i know use Marth as their main... took part in a fun tournament when brawl came out and easily 75% of the people were using Marth, including me.

i've now switched to Link as a main since i needed more range and with the new bow skill that lets you do a ranged smash attack i'm unstoppable ...

i haven't tried out an amibo are they even worth getting?

Yes! they act as cpu characters that start at level 1, but get tougher as they get up to level 50… they also ulock stuff in mario kart 8 and hyrule warriors.

unlocking stuff is good ... haha i'm confused though are they CPU characters or do you control them?

They're CPU. You can customize there move set and default color and stuff, but you fight against it. It really tests how strong you really are...

The other thing, The Amiibos don't work online, You can only pit them against each other or against you in local multiplayer.

It's all a confusing mess at this point. We've got conflicting reports from multiple sources. Nintendo has confirmed the niche Amiibo will be discontinued to make room for new stock, but also that popular Amiibo will get reprints.

At this point I'm just glad I got the "rare" ones one day one.

Very much so. A lot of speculation that Little Mac, Captain Falcon and Pit will be the Wave 2 Amiibo to be short stocked, so if you want an Amiibo of the Captain I suggest you pre-order one now-ish. He's been delayed until the end of the month, along with Pit and Luigi, so there's still time, but as of now he's climbing the charts on Amazon.

I had zero issue getting anyone from Wave 1 I wanted, but I was at TRU around noon on day 1. I saw Marth/Villager/WFT hanging around for the next few days, but then never again. Considering the explosive market around those three, I expect there to be far more competition for Wave 2 and waves going forward. Especially if Nintendo stays so noncommittal to satisfying demand. If scum bag scalpers think they can make money, you better believe they're going to be snapping up the low print characters to flip on day one.

When something is announced as "discontinued" people will rush out to buy it. When nintendo releases it again, everyone will buy it so they don't miss out again.

That's a good question that no one can answer. Nintendo has handled Amiibo poorly, for sure.

Hit TRU early this morning and after arguing managed to get a manager to look in the back for a box. I wandered as I was waiting, store was totally empty, and came back to the electronics to see some scum f*ck nose deep in the box. He had all three Little Mac's they had, so I forced him to give me one. There was a single Diddy in the box and a bunch of Zelda's. I'm sure everything that sh*t head bought will be up on eBay within the hour and I'm out a Diddy, despite being the one who forced them to put their (super limited) stock out.

Gonna check a few more places, but I feel super angry at Nintendo for forcing me to have to do this kind of sh*t.

Edit: Went to a few TRU's and some Walmarts. Zelda is readily available, but that's it. Diddy and Little Mac are MIA. What's super f*cked is one TRU refused to open their shipment, stating the release wasn't until the 14th. Dude told me to come back Sunday, but I'm almost 100% sure someone will force them to open their stuff before then. He said there were only two Diddy's in their box. As I was leaving some shady looking guy got real mad about them not selling them, then asked super specific questions about the box and contents. Obvious scalper f*ck. Nintendo needs to get the f*ck out in front of this stuff and be more open about their plans, because until they do anything that can be conceived as rare is going to be hunted and scalped by these scum bags. They've handle this entire thing so poorly.

Edit 2: My fiance, who works out in the sticks, called me around 10:30 to say she had found both a Little Mac and Diddy at the Target out that way, so she grabbed both. Prices are duuuumb online right now. Zelda just went out of stock on Amazon.ca and she's even going for $25 now. Stupidity! Think I'm gonna just bite the bullet and pre-order all of wave 3 immediately. I had 3 (Mega Man, Toon Link and Ike) on pre-order, but I'm just gonna do the rest and put my mind at ease. I also told my sister to keep on eye on the Meta Knight pre-orders on Best Buy and tell me when they came back up and I jumped on it as soon as they did. They're sold out again and according to BB reps they're in incredibly short supply. I hope the pre-orders for Shulk and Lucario come up online here in Canada soon. I have no idea how we're going to deal with Rosalina as the Target exclusive, because Target.ca isn't even a real website.

you say that but there are a number of bidders on that item and some have 300+ reviews... trust me that was my first thought as well... only strange thing is the seller has no ratings...
