Sorry, but I do have to take all the hate for the young Anakin actors with a grain of salt. I doubt any actor could play a version of Darth Vader who's nothing like Darth Vader, and please fans. I didn't grow up watching Star Wars, but I'm sure there has to be a measure of butthurtedness that comes from seeing an iconic villain as dorky kid. And I'm not saying he was a great actor, but he was working with some garbage dialogue, as y'all are pointing out. An actor can only do so much with lines like that. Even Portman wasn't anything to write home about...

I don't even care about Darth Vader. He's just awful.

Everytime he's in a crying scene I burst out laughing just because how bad it is.

This my surprise you, but I'm a mortal enemy of that level of hyperbole. It's absolutely the single worst thing people do or ever have done.

But no that's still a pretty ridiculous overstatement on your part.

Bad acting is the fault of the director, more than the actor. It's the director that should be guiding the actor towards the performance that they're looking for. Don't like Anakin? Blame Lucas.

Not only that, but all scenes have multiple takes and I find it very hard to believe that the ones in the final Prequel movies are the BEST ones. That's also entirely up to the director's discretion, and something tells me that George Lucas does not have an ear for dialogue.

It's like he figures any way you read the lines off the page is fine, and the John Williams score will just tell the audience how to feel later.

A yup. Pretty much. At the end of the day it's the director's "vision" that gets released. Or as much of that vision as the bankrollers will let him.

Lucas is a great idea-man, but I find his stuff is strongest when he has solid collaborators.

I used to think the same thing about casting Anakin in TPM. But if you watch the bonus features, you'll see of their final 3 young Anakin candidates, the other two were way worse than Lloyd.

People are having fun with Ben Solo's temper tantrums.

A Twitter handler is having fun and playing off his character more accurately than not in parody fashion.

You guys are idiots for blaming Hayden Christensen.
He does a good job in other movies. Lucas is just sh*tty at giving directions.

I blame Rick McCallum. Watch the 'making of' docs on the prequels, and you can see him lurking around at key moments, where terrible decisions are being made, not telling uncle George that he's being an idiot.

It's amusing to see him get fatter and more disheveled throughout the prequels too. I swear he's covered in crumbs during his interviews on Revenge of the Sith.

Having tried to watch "Jumper" (I think the name was), I have to disagree with you.

So basically, he's Peter Jackson in reverse?

Everything I've seen him in, he's been terrible.

And he's not exactly making the best career choices lately.

Nicholas Cage and Hayden Christiansen in the same movie?

Did the producers even WANT people to like their movie?

Really? Because I've heard a lot of people (Nostalgia Critic and someone I know on another site) say he's good in other things.

Evidently not. I do love Nicolas Cage though, because he's a least entertaining when he's being terrible.

Hayden seems to have dropped way off the tadar doing more independent projects. The first I heard of him in ages was a promo for 90 Minutes In Heaven ahead of a movie, and 90 Minutes In Heaven I believe was a limited release.

Nic Cage takes any project he can get to get himself out of debt. Besides he has a wide range and people expect him to be a bit out there. See Face/Off to show out zany Cage can be and pull it off nicely while that simpmy does not work with John Travolta.
