Who even are they? I’ve been a TMNT fan my whole life and have never heard of these guys…

I'm assuming from the early Vol. 1 issue where Michelangelo is writing out a fantasy story in Feudal Japan.

Yeah, it's "Lord Orkai" from Mikey's story in #17 and his evil lizard pet thing. I don't think the lizard pet thing even had a name. Basically Eastman is going back over the stuff he created at Mirage now. Maybe just a little pause before getting back to things he did not create.

Pretty lame choice. And a low-effort toy, on top of that. The only big appeal to that issue is that it’s penciled by Eric Talbot, but neither one of these toys look particularly Talbot-y.

A lot of NECA’s stuff looks like it’s straight off the page, but these look so generic. I honestly thought they made a mistake and these were some BS from another line for a second.

They are putting out such obscure toys. At some point they'll start doing toy versions of specific trees and rocks that appeared in a random issue.

Really feels like someone at NECA loves issue #17.

And his name rhymes with Evan Smeastman. There's really no other explanation.

But hey, the man just got them to put out some Image TMNT figures I thought would never, ever exist and even a classic Karai so if he wants to put out some figures of a couple of made-up characters inside a one-off issue that no one really LOVED loved, be my guest.

NECA: "Everyone whines when we only release Turtles, and everyone whines when we release extreme deep cuts nobody even remembers existed... WE JUST CAN'T WIN"

Because there's no middle ground, right?

Odd choice. Next I’d like to see Fosco TMNT expanded upon, Cyborg Baxter, and just more TMNT figures based on comic artists. AC Farley figures would be insane.

Saves me some money. Though I would've bought author Mikey (in his Batman shirt... good luck) from the end of the issue.

But I'm glad the Mirage line is still going.

I don’t know if this actually translates to sales, but I wonder if they approved this figure so people would argue in the comments and boost them in the algorithm lol. Saw plenty of back and forth on Facebook and they actually limited the comments on instagram.

Anyway, I fully agree for the sentiment. For the hell of it, here’s what I think deserved a release before this.

- Lawson Splinter
- CC and Radical
- Volume 4 turtles
- Urban Legends Leo, Mike, hockey mask Raph, Pimiko, Lady Shredder, Go-Komodo
- AC Farley turtles
- Dooney turtles (both standard and The Passing)
- Berger turtles
- Baxter Robot
- Body Count Raph
- Christmas Aliens Mike
- Old Man Leo and Old Man Don
- Jhanna
- Fish people

And just about everyone you could think of that had a single appearance in Tales. Hell, I’d say Mr. Buscheyev in a damn body cast would have been a better choice than this

Usually I'm all for Mirage deep cuts, but this one's a little too deep, even for me. I'm just glad that a lot of the comics characters I actually DID want (Renet, Chote, Karai) have been released. The only one that hasn't is Bloodsucker, but... well, they'd have to try and work something out with Rick Veitch for that. So maybe not impossible, but does feel unlikely.

Let's see, what do I have left on my list... in order of "wanting" :

* Pimiko

* Cyborg Baxter

* Bat Splinter

* Future Shadow

* Image Leo with sword-arm

* Jhanna

* Gamera Raph

* Donatello's Vol. 4 Robot body. Obviously with "Little Don" next to it.

The Savanti Romero "Masks" version? I just got an E-mail about it from NECA.

Not the worst figure they could add but far, far from the top of the list.

Definite pick-up for me. I'd even be keen on an update to Renet, with longer hair.

But another figure from Michael Dooney's issues has me hopeful for #27's Complete Carnage and Radical.

Fun variant for Savanti - and I would love to get a Dooney version of Renet from Masks to replace the current AutoT one in my display.

I'm honestly still shocked we got Cyborg Don before we got Cyborg Baxter.

Pretty cool! Don’t know if I’ll be buying this one immediately, but I love that they’re getting into Tales Vol. 2.
