The box art is nice, not great, but nice. It's comforting to know that they're releasing the missing episodes with this set. If for no other reason, it'll at least be nice for the turtles to gain a presence in the DVD section, other than the movie four-packs that is (assuming this reaches retailers around here, I don't remember ever seeing the season nine set at retail...).

That they did. Glad they wised up though to put them out. Now turtles can be one of the few Cartoon series to get an entire release.

It's going to be an interesting mix-and-match DVD (see how the animation has changed throughout the ages with the two out-of-season episodes), but, yes, having Lionsgate correct its omission is very good news. In terms of the DVD box art, I rather like it. Except wouldn't a more fantastic art theme be more appropriate for the season, considering we had a time travel arc, another trip to Dimension X, Leonardo's mutation and so forth? Vs. a rather generic sewer-based one? Then again, it doesn't much matter, as have the DVD covers had any context with the actual seasons they feature? I haven't seen them all, so feel free to correct me, but the closest one I found might be Splinter fighting that one mecha-tentacle in the Season 1 set.

Oh, well, who cares -- better late than never, right?

I am going to get the set, anyway, but I admit, finally having "Planet of the Turtleoids" is a really nice bonus.

So at what point will the prices of those elusive "Planet of the Turtloids" VHS tapes start to tank on Amazon and Ebay?

So? I'd rather have them on an official release than any sub-par 3rd-party fifth-generation pirated copy.

And now we are getting them on an official release.

That's all I'll say about it.

Other than the fact that all the Turtles now have baby blue eyes. And here I thought April O'Neil's eye color change was strange in Season 8.
It's very reminiscent of the TMNT: Ninjas with Attitude shirt at Hot Topic:

Just read the e-mail about "Planet of the Turtleoids" and "Once Upon a Time Machine" and I am very pleased to hear those episodes will be on this release!

Which releases contained slipcovers originally?

I know of Season 1, Volume 5, Season 4, Season 5, Season 6, Season 8 and Season 9.

Did Vol. 2, Vol. 3, Vol.4, Vol. 6, or Season 7 ever have slipcovers?
