I thought Leatherhead would not speak.. he had intellect. He is Mikey's true friend.
I expect appearing "Cockroach Terminator".

This was probably my second favorite episode behind "The Gauntlet". Leatherhead was great! I was glad he was an actual alligator and not a human turned into an animal. He was tough and I liked his voice. I think he's going to work out somewhat close to how I wanted him to as a friend/enemy type.

It was great to see the turtles actually walk around the sewer for once in this series. I enjoyed that. I also really liked to see Splinter in action and their home being threatened, even if it wasn't a big threat to their lair. The subway car was interesting. It reminded me of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III of course and I do wonder if Donnie will use the subway car for something and if they'll use the Kraang's "battery" for something too.

Yeah, I am also glad they didn't use the one-time "human Jess Harley" origin for Leatherhead either. I hate the idea of Leatherhead being human and that's one of the few things I dislike about the Archie comics.

Glad to see him remain a normal gator in Mirage, OT, 4kids, Nick, and hopefully IDW.

I've always felt that once human Leatherhead, like Splinter, was a more tragic character, but to each their own.

I am disappointed in the fact that Leatherhead is not evil! He feels defined as a villain, not as the cajun accented catchphrase filled, revenge driven bully but just the fact he was a villain. While the episode was a great character piece and added mystery to the Kraang its just Leatherhead not being evil...maybe Tom and gang will give that to me because as Mick sang ,"You Can't Always Get What You Want".

I didn't mention it before but I'm really getting annoyed by how they're treating Donnie in this show. Mikey might be foolish in this show, and come off as a bit dim, but the butt of the jokes most often ends up being Donnie.

He is pretty much always shown as being weaker, more vulnerable and just in general seems to be everyones punching bag. He gets a few golden moments, but they're really few and far between. This episode really is a perfect example of that Don constantly gets joked about and pushed around and it wasn't the first time he got pressured to hurry up while messing with complicated alien technology that could easily kill him. And no one even complimented him on his ability to actually make the subway car work and save all their butts.

And in future episodes the subway car will become the Shellraiser and even though its entirely Donnie's baby it will be Leo who gets to drive it, just like in the opening sequences.

Its what I said since day one,I think Nickelodeon views Don as the least popular of the four(is he really? who knows.). To curb that they took parts of what made Raphael originally popular, in other words his sarcasm and his voice and gave it to Don! Add to that the crush on April thing and that is Nick's way of trying to make Don more appealing. Personally, and perhaps its just me,but I STILL hear Raphael x 2 only one of the two Raph's is the intellectual.

I feel like Don is being given quite a big amount of spotlight and we had a bigger glimpse of Leo's personality, which is a nice change, if anything Raph has been the one that has been stuck a little to the background but it's ok since it sort of making up For all the others series, he is a pretty strong personality anyways.

Well, in the OT everyone got to drive the Van. I think it will be the same here..even so I have issues imaging Mikey to drive it |D""

Have you ever even watched the OT? Donny was just as sarcastic and witty as Raph, if not MORE.

I guess they just don't want a, "villain" Leatherhead anymore. Its more true to the Mirage incarnation of the character I guess.

And shockingly enough, Leatherhead was a villain in only ONE series, which was of course the OT. Even the Archie comics made him a good guy right at the end of his first appearance.

I'm actually really happy he is not a villian. I like how they portrayed him as a character. He can be destructive, yes. But as Splinter said he has a pure heart. It really adds more to the "don't judge a book by it's cover" moral the way they went with it. Plus, it's always nice for the turtles to get another mutant on the team that can help them.

I hate to be that guy, but... Did it bother anyone that he looked like a crocodile? Don't cast stones, I loved the episode, but that was the one little nitpicky thing that was throwing me off.

Yeah I have to say that I noticed it and it did bother me a bit. I guess it makes more sense that he's an alligator seeing as he was bought from a pet shop in the U.S. but he does look like a crocodile. I'd prefer him be a crocodile but then his origin would have to sync up with that. They could have found him in Africa or Australia for his story but that may have been too complicated for a simple origin story.

I also liked the idea that The Kraang haven't been able to do anything else "otherworldly" because Leatherhead has their power source to be able to do so. That does explain the reason why The Kraang seem stuck at the moment and can't defeat the turtles.

I'm a big fan of the Archie comics and I do appreciate Leatherhead as a human. I do like the idea and it is more tragic. I think I overall prefer him as an animal though. I hope the series can make Leatherhead more of a wild card character. Maybe he's not a pure villain to the turtles but they could make him where he doesn't always want to help them either. That way when he does for an extreme case, it will be more of a surprise.

I'm not sure where you're living but here on the East Coast I have to say that Donatello is clearly the favorite turtle of casual fans. Every comic event I've been to all I see is Donatello represented. Not to mention if you look at the toys and collectibles section of this very forum you will see that Donatello is the one that people are having the most trouble finding.

Also women seem to like Donatello the most which has lead me to call him the "Edward Cullen of Ninja Turtles" on more than one occassion. I feel that desire to be loved by Donatello is what led to the development of crush on April thing. Its like throwing those girls who want to be done like a machine by Donatello a bone.

Didn't occur to me until I read this, but it seems odd that if Leatherhead is the one thing standing in their way of complete domination of our dimension. Then why have they been bothering with some of the other things we've seen. I mean the kidnapping of scientists makes sense, have them try and develop a replacement power source. The mutation bomb though I just don't see what how that would have aided them at all.

Wow, seriously? It's comments like this that make me never want to mention Don as being my favorite Turtle again lest I be stereotyped into THAT stereotype. Jeez dude, women can like Turtles ( or even call them "cute" or "sexy") without having some inner fantasy about wanting to be done by one of them. Ugh.
