Thoughts on Old Toon April? - Page 7

I always thought Paige Turco was a cuter woman to play April than Judith Hoag was. Paige just never wore a tight black skirt like Judith did, but at least she showed off her legs in TMNT III.

Yeah, too bad she couldn't show off her legs in TMNT II, the one that people can muster up the fortitude to watch a little more often it seems.

Judith Hoag was pretty cute too, though.

I loved the sequel. I mean part 1 was cool and stuff, but it was kinda deep and sad serious and sad scenes in it. Not that it's bad of course, but the sequel was just wild mindless fun.

Agreed, though I can't help but feeling a bit ashamed of talking like this about April O'Neil, of all people.

Making April a news reporter in the 1987 TMNT cartoon was good. It was like a connection between the TMNT and the human society.

My main thought about Old Toon April is...

WHO wears a yellow jump suit like that... really?

I was glad when she finally put a shirt and jeans on for a change in the "Red Sky" episodes later in the series.

... and don't even get me started on how they 'sexied up' April in the New Toons... Giving her a tank top and stylish, hip pants, and a red hair makeover like no other.

I really don't care for New Toon Aprils character design. I'm glad that at least that they got rid of April's slutty midriff shirt.

I really liked April's new outfit in red sky episodes, and that sweet car she drove. But I could have done with out the mustard yellow slacks. What was up with the animators putting April in gaudy yellow outfits? Its like the made yellow April's signiture color, which i don't under stand because its not she is hard to reconise that they would have to color coordinate her. I mean with the turtles I get it but but April I don't.

I really liked April's new look too. I for one, wish I could've seen the Red Sky series, sounds awesome! So were the episodes they temporarily had on Youtube and on the Season 1 DVD.
I kinda liked April at first in the old toon as well and didn't mind the numerous "damsel-in-distress" moments until it got too repetitive for me. I'd say it's about even between her and the new toon April.

As for the movie Aprils, I think Judith was the best. She was pretty stronger than all the other incarnations and I liked her personality.

I liked first movie April better than the second and third one. I thought the actress that played April in the first movie had better acting skills and was more relaxed in her role than the other one.

And I don't know why people are saying that April in the first movie wasn't as pretty as the other one, I thought she looked fine

As far as damsel in distress moments go, one that stuck out in my mind as a kid was when there was that costume thing and April wore this huge dress, and sure enough when the foot arrive she gets stuck on something due to the dress.

Someone elsewhere mentioned April getting stuck in a machine or something during some episode about Krang's fear ray. Anyone remember what that was about? Was that a much later episode?

So OT April wins hands down.

And I agree with some of the posts here, she does look mighty fine. A real woman in every aspect as I can see it and yellow really does suit her well.
