I'm leaning toward one of the fox characters as the most likely reveal too. I'd imagine IDW-style Alopex would be more likely than IDW Ninjara, since she just showed up a few months ago, but maybe there was synergetic strategy with the game and comics to time it up like that?

Feels like it. I don't recall any TMNT games having that kind of synergizing strategy except Shredder's Revenge back when Mona Lisa was introduced, but i'm starting to think this one's alot more obvious. So any games with DLC are likely being given a handsheet of what to expect from TMNT content in the future and this was planned for awhile.

Is it worth getting this game for $8 on Switch 2? I don't really care for the genre, but it IS turtles... Maybe I could find some fun in it anyway? I'm leaning towards not, but that's pretty cheap.

Wow, color me surprised that one of the games uses her comic book design instead of her ****** ripoff design from the cartoon. I was losing hope we'd ever see a proper Alopex in other media.

If you want, you can get it slighter cheaper on Switch 1 with the sale, then upgrade later to Switch 2 for like 2-3 bucks for higher performance. Haven’t played it enough to gauge how well it runs on Switch.

First off, it looks like this Alopex is after she recovered from her brainwashing of Kitsune. She isn't dating Raph, but Raph is already calling her Al and is trying to do everything to stick up for her now that she's part of the team.

Alopex's story is mainly her beef with Karai.

Every battle, they reveal what has been going on to the fans what has been going on in the IDW storyline. What makes their recollection truly amazing though with the power of voice actors is that Alopex hates Karai for being so stubborn to blindly trust Shredder to the point she lets Shredder kill Alopex's original family, now calling him "The-Bear-That-Hunts-Me" and lose trust in Shredder - she even points out Karai doesn't really understand family , while Karai calls her and the turtles weak minded for changing allegiences under mind control. This shakes the TMNT and Alopex up. In addition, Karai points out how Alopex was her equal and feels more betrayed by that fact more than anyone.

In the end, Alopex and Karai are questioning their loyalties, but while Alopex has the TMNT's trust, Karai doesn't have anyone from the looks of it.

Wow, it's amazing how much depth and character development you can get out of Alopex's storyline when you don't sideline her in favor of the far less interesting Jennika.

I mean, yep? On the scale of TMNT games over time - many of which, if we’re honest, skew toward ‘garbage’ - it’s up there with the good ones.

Def unique (among TMNT), and better in co-op. But fun.

Pleasantly surprised with the reveal. Was disappointed initially there didn’t seem to be much story with it but encouraged by the post above (did not click the spoiler - thank you for your internet manners).

Maybe so, but it's excellent dialogue.

I'm sure people know how Splinter's Fate plays, but yes - the story content is mostly extra dialogue that appeares when Alopex reaches Karai - the second boss of Splinter's Fate. But again, it's excellent dialogue. I even requested them to add an option to listen to it again after you beat Alopex's storyline.

just got this and the bundle for xbox one, looks pretty cool. No idea how to play as casey yet he was in the bundle. Pretty cool looking game from the outside. Cowabunga

100% this game was a chore. Mostly because of the Self-sabotage achievements.

Otherwise,great game if you are into roguelites.

It's an okay Rogue-Lite, but one I wouldn't play if it wasn't turtles. My biggest complaint is that the portal modifiers are mainly things that make the game less fun, not more fun. Rather than adding new mechanics to try to deal with or more enemy spawns, instead they're doing things like increasing damage numbers, removing dashes... or far, FAR more egregious:

- Reducing number of selections from room clear rewards
- Capping the amount of scrap you can carry
- Drastically increasing the cost of things in the shop

Any one of these severely reduces the fun in any given run rather than actually making things more challenging. If I get one of them too early, I usually just restart the run rather than waste my time. Because if you get all 3 in a row, refusing them all makes no more portals spawn. And without portals, the game is too easy to begin with. Really wish they'd remove these and replace them with something actually mechanically interesting.
