TMNT: Smash-Up

I'm pretty sure "Hip-Hop Mikey" (which makes no sense, as what he's wearing is far from hip-hop and is more of an "extreme sports" gear, with his skateboard and such) is an alternate costume and not a separate character. I'm willing to bet Cyber Shredder is as well, by the same extension. I came close to the end of survival mode, where they start throwing alternate costumes at you. "Hip-Hop Mikey", along with Raphael with a guitar and mohawk, and Donatello with some sort of gear on - I couldn't tell if it was his Cosby Kid extreme sports gear from the Mini-Mutants line, or the scrapped "DJ D" figure from the music Turtles line (he wouldn't stay still long enough for me to be able to tell). Casey had his red shirt + blue jeans, April with a purple top and khaki shorts, Splinter wearing a blue kimono with intricate design (Casey, Splinter, and April, I've unlocked myself). Karai showed up with Utrominator, and Karai was purple-ish, I think. I couldn't tell because she killed me almost immediately. Utrominator did not look different to me, but it could have been because he had literally just shown up when I died.

The thing is, with the Rabbids, they have different portrait images when you fight them. "Hip-Hop Mikey", along with the other alternate costume-types, had the same general portraits. That's why I'm almost 100% certain that HHM and Cyber Shredder aren't separate characters.

Well, that gives us some hope. Run into Cyber Shredder yet? I at least assume Nightwatcher is his own character since fighting with the chains is different than using a pair of Sais.

Also, are we still down to just 2 Rabbids?

I haven't seen Cyber Shredder myself yet. Nightwatcher is indeed his own character.

There are at least three Rabbids in the game, and that's why everyone is so livid. They're not simply alternate costumes; they each have different weapons and attacks. I've fought all three of them in one of the missions, although I've not unlocked them yet (the folks at TurtleDojo are saying it takes a lot of versus play to do so, and even then, nobody's gotten Ninja Rabbid yet).

There have been a splinter Rabbid reported to be found. So how many are we at now?? Also they are counted as seperate characters.

Had there already been a large roster and Ubisoft decided to slip one Rabbid in (with a Ninja Turtle costume) as a joke character, I would've been fine. I might have even thought it was funny.

But with a limited roster and three full Rabbids in over dozens of more deserving TMNT characters, that does feel insulting. I don't want to get into the over-the-top bashing like some people have, but you really have to wonder at what stage in development they thought that would go over well with fans.

I will still get this game. They may have f*cked up royally with the fanservice aspect, but from what I've heard, it's still a middlingly decent brawler. And if nothing else, I have hopes that things can be mitigated with a Rabbid-free sequel.

I'm really hoping that this game could be a test to see how it could fare. And that they will make a sequel, preferably next year or the year after that, and that they will include more characters and not any stinking Rabbids. I'm not gonna bash this game cuz its Ninja Turtle related and any new game from them would make me happy, but I really hope this is just a step towards an awesome, thought out sequel.

This roster is looking worse and worse but I'll hold out. They can do download characters, the Ninja Rabbid is a DL code. At very least download costumes so that's their chance. If people complain about they might listen.

You might, but others don't. Don't wanna spend more money, fine, but leave the choice for others to decide.

It was revoked from the Amazon page. Amazon no longer lists pre-order items. Plus, it's actually an opponent in a mission, and was shown in the latest character trailer.

I can stand some DLC, but not all. If a playable character belongs in the game and a well known character, then it shouldn't be DLC. If it doesn't belong in the game or as an obscure character, then DLC is fine for these. Alt costumes are fine. Stages are fine as long as there's plenty already. Things like that.

DLC is optional, not selling point. IF they were to make characters like Bebop, Rocksteady, and Leatherhead into DLC, it makes DLC into a selling point for the game and not just bonus content.

This does not make any sense at all! why would they put the ot logo on the game and the technodrome stage if there isn't any ot characters. I'm still going to buy this game, but I will have a hell of fun kicking the damn rabbid. At least Cyber Shredder looks cool.
