New Smash Bros for 3ds and Wii U

There's a small, very small, possibility the FF7 remake may also come out on the NX too, so who knows.

Why small possibility? In fact I think it seems likely and the Square-Nintendo relationship is getting stronger (and it's been fairly strong for years). We have Cloud on Smash, we're getting localized versions of DQVII and VIII and DQ X is coming to the NX not to mention at the announcement Sony only ever said that it was coming out "first" on Playstation 4.

Maybe I'm being pedantic, but that doesn't fit what they were saying at all. Ehrgeiz isn't a crossover fighter, for one. Furthermore, it's by Square, so they wouldn't be "letting" them into anything.

No. No one has that thought, because it doesn't promote anything about the remake. Nintendo has Final Fantasy properties being released according to the direct which made this more possible anyway.

We have the thought Nintendo threw down a blank check to Square and said "Name your price." and Square agreed to it.

To have Cloud ready for with game data footage means production would have had to have started months before hand; the ballot box has barely been closed a month. It doesn't add up. Plus the fact they state it was clear Smash X FF VII tells me this was a planned release from the start.

Not to mention they created a stage which takes months to create.

And I am far more excited to get the stage and accompanying music than I am to get Cloud. As noted before, Cloud is dumb. I like his game, but I never liked him as a character.

I AM looking forward to his other costumes and color palettes though. Hmm...

Again: CITATION NEEDED. Just because you keep saying it, doesn't mean it's true. Of course he's got the final say on characters - ANY project lead would. But there has never been a single scrap of evidence that characters are added just because HE wants them and nobody else.

I like Final Fantasy, and I like Cloud, but he is a poor choice for Smash. He recieved no major support, we don't need another sword character. We should never of had Roy as DLC, especially, ,if he had intended to put Cloud in from the start of DLC.

Sakuri loves RPGs, and it's funny how all the DLC characters are from RPGs bar Ryu, who everyone likes.

I hope something good and relevant to Nintendo, is showcased in December to soften the boring inclusion of yet another genric anime style sword wielder with no visual charm.

I agree that there are too many swords character. I know Fire Emblem is a popular game, but if you haven't played the game, those characters have zero significance to you. You wouldn't even recognize them. I think that's more true for Fire Emblem than the other games represented in Smash. And even though I happen to be playing Final Fantasy 7 for the second time, I have no interests in using Cloud in Smash. He just doesn't look fun to play.

I miss the Gamecube mode where you get to fight henchman for the different games. That and board the platforms. Maybe a DLC for those would be made, but I doubt it. MewTwo rocks! I hope for some more legendary Pokémon DLC, I'd like to play as Lugia.

The final Smash direct is on the 15th. Since they datamined and found 3 character slots, its most likely Cloud and two other characters.

I *think* the characters will be Inkling (in 8 variations like the villager) for Splatoon's popularity as well as Wolf since he's an easy veteran and for Starfox Zero. I still pull for either Dixie or K. Rool, but beyond that I don't expect much else.

Smash DLC wrapping up is bittersweet, now we'll likely have to wait 3-4 years for the next Smash before speculating any more newcomers again. Brings back memories of how long the gap between Brawl and Smash U was.

It's the final Smash direct, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll stop giving us DLC. It's just likely. It wouldn't be anything big that needs its own direct, basically.

I think this'll be it. If we get anything after this it's going to be balance patches.

I'm hoping for one more great character reveal, but I'm not going to be surprised if we get some sh*t like Wolf and maybe the Inklings. Both of which I couldn't care less about. Hopefully there are at least a couple interesting stages or maybe a cool new mode.

If they do King K. Rool should be one of the highest votes. Not counting Ridley, he's probably the only character that had organized campaigns with people voting for him constantly. I remember reading on Smashboards some people went to their local Verizon store and voted for King K. Rool on every phone or tablet they had on display.
