Would you rather have turtle soup than pizza? Do you like to shred things? Are you tired of being the good guy? Sometimes it’s fun to be bad, and that’s why we’re giving you a special code so you can take up the blade-encrusted gauntlet of the one and only Shredder and also unlock the Cyber Shredder alternate costume! He’s the ultimate turtle nemesis and while there have been many incarnations of this deadly martial artist his hatred for the turtles has always remained constant. Oroku Saki is skilled in the deadly arts of Ninjitsu and hails from Japan. In TMNT: Smash-Up he’s a brutally powerful contestant with strong attacks that will pulverize any opponent who is unfortunate enough to cross his path.

What do you have to do to get access to the big bad of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe? Simple, just select the Bonus Content option from the main menu screen and enter in the code below:

Up, Down, Right, Up, Down, Right, Left, Up, Right, Down

If you input this code correctly a sound will play. Shredder will then be visible in the Bonus Content list and you will also get access to an alternate Cyber Shredder skin!"


I have been out of town all weekend, so I have yet to pick up the game, and I will just pick up my pre-order tomorrow at this point. So . . . if someone could post a verification that the code works and whatnot, I am sure that would be good for the whole group.

i went ahead & pre-ordered it since the price on amazon was lowered. i know it's fun to play since i got the chance to try it at the turtle van thing back in june, but i am disappointed in the roster.

The current known roster isn't that appealing to me as it stands. If they can at least have some more unlockable characters even if it's from the 2k3 series, then I will judge based on that.

Does anyone know who the unlockable characters are, outside of the main roster and the three rabbids?

Karai, Shredder, Foot Ninja, Utrominator, Fugitoid, Raving Rabbid, Splinter Rabbid, and Ninja Rabbit are all there is to unlock, unless there's something uber-super secret stuffed away somewhere - which is doubtful.

EDIT: Apparently, that's all. Someone dumped the game - there's 16 characters, 10 alternate costumes, and that's it.

* April: Resembles her 2003 cartoon outfit, although she has khaki shorts instead of pants.
* Casey: Similar to his TMNT: Back to the Sewer standard gear.
* Donatello: Modeled after the unreleased Playmates toy of "Cyber Don".
* Foot Ninja: Cyber Foot
* Karai: Golden Amazonian Blade Bot
* Michelangelo: White clothes, orange helmet, headphones, has a skateboard strapped to his back. Referred to as "Hip-Hop Mikey" in a character trailer.
* Raphael: Based on the Raphael figure from Playmates' unreleased "Music Turtles" line. Has a Mohawk on his head and an electric guitar strapped to his back.

What an utter let down of a roster...There were so many great possible character choices as well. Instead we get three rabbids and no Baxter, Usagi, Leatherhead, Triceraton, Rat King, etc?

I don't get too upset over these choices, but I'm a bit perplexed as to why Splinter is the only character whose costumes apparently has no other basis in the TMNT universe. Would it have been so hard to change his fur color to a darker brown and put him in his good old pink kimono from the OT?

Just pray for a sequel if ya want more characters. My favorite fighter of all time is Power Stone which had only 8 characters and 2 bonus dudes, then the sequel added 5-6 more characters.

I Powerstone & Powerstone 2.
Each has their own uniqueness.

Forgive my off-topic adoration of a ten year old franchise.

I do hope Ubisoft makes a Smash Up sequel and goes all MvC2 with their roster expansion. Now how awesome (albeit unlikely) would that be?

Why is everyone calling it BTTS Casey? It's the CGI Casey's street clothes. Yeah the BTTS design is based on it, but it's clearly the CGI take on it.

Calling it the BTTS Casey is falling into Playmates' lie that the GCI and BTTS designs are the same! It's also why they fail so hard

I feel like they half-assed it on purpose. Everyone doesnt even have an alternate costume. Skimpy character roster. I guess they thought they gameplay would make up for it.

Just so we're clear, Usagi isn't a TMNT character either, but at least he's a cool character unlike the Rabbids.

Yes I know about Stan Sakai's comic, but Usagi has made crossovers with the TMNT since forerver... Toons, Toys, and Comics... (I think he made an appearance on one of the TMNT 2K3 series games, but I'm not sure.) But in any case he's so connected to the TMNT that he deserved a spot in the game, instead of them Rabbids... I mean seriously 3 of them!?

^^ Especially since it's Usagi's 25th Anniversary as well. They could have at least ditched Ninja Rabbid in favor of Samurai Rabbid. Good thinkin', Ubi...

Looks like Amazon just shipped my game out this morning. So, I won't get to SEE the damage until this weekend. Good thing I'm in no hurry...
