Sure gays can marry, but not others of the same gender.

And gay marriage hasn't been "banned", it never existed in the first place in most places. Call it bigotry if you like-in which case you must also call it bigotry when you cannot have eight hundred wives.

like Leo656 pointed out, why would you want a whole bunch of wives all under the same rough menestrating at the same time? Call it bigotry if you want but bless your government they limited the number to one at a time. And even thats going out of style.

At any rate this has nothing to do with gay rights, I just commented on it because it was poor example of "bigotry" (even though Type 97 Chi-ha probably ment it tongue-in-cheek). But does say that whos screwing who is always something people get their collective panties all in a bunch over. Why does everyone care so much?

regular man-woman marriage is a joke in this country now-adays that is increasingly going out of style, why do you care that people of the same sex are doing it?

Marriage should just be banned all together, for that matter relationships should be too, because fewer and fewer people want to be in monogamous relationship anymore and deal with another persons ******** for a lengthy amount of time. More and more people in this country just want to fu** with no emotional or legal responciablities to anyone. So maybe people should just be able to have sex than move on. Maybe there'd be less whining and bitching from everyone if people didin't have to do more than just screw someone and move along.

Hell, lets get rid of the family unit too where there is a man and a woman that raise children with a big back yard and a picket fense. Maybe it could be somewhat like "The Republic" and no one is personally responciable for their own off-spring, and kids are raised till their of age by "care takers" or something. That would take care of alot of ****. I don't know, it just the constant bitching and finger pointing of liberals and conservatives is annoying.

What the f*ck are you talking about? People of the same gender who love each other are considered gay or lesbian, you moron. And, no they aren't allowed to get married.

And, yes, gay marriage is illegal in some states.

As for polygamy, I think it's ridiculous, but I'm not going to tell someone they can't do it. Live and let live. If people are into that sh*t, then they should just do it. It doesn't hurt me in anyway.

I just don't understand you, Type 97. You aren't making any sense at all.

There actually was a definite historical case when marriage was abolished altogether-in the nation of Paraguay, at least for a time, because it had been so badly devastated by a war in the nineteenth century.

And a few more fun facts about marriage:

In Iran, and probably a number of other countries, the minimum age to marry is 13. Not a typo-13. And that is without parental consent. With parental consent, children as young as 9 can marry. Think I'm joking? Probably the reason for it is to allow very poor people to place their kids in more wealthy environments, or if something happens to the parents the kids won't be unattached orphans.

Musician Jerry Lee Lewis married his 13-year-old cousin when he was 26; not very unusual in the South decades ago, but it damaged his career for a time. They divorced eventually, but the marriage (by the ex-wife's account in a magazine article I read) was fairly normal and even produced a son who sadly died in a swimming pool accident at age 3.

Consulting the 1989 Guiness Book of World Records, the youngest marriage ever was in Bangladesh where an 11-month-old boy was married to a 3-month-old girl to end a feud between two families.

Sharia (Islamic) law allows a man to have up to four wives if he can take care of them equally. Undoubtedly most people who do have multiple wives are in fact quite wealthy such as Saudi princes.

As long as he gives each wife equal attention, it is also usually advised not to have more then one wife. Unless you have some position (like a Saudi Prince)

But Polyandry is not allowed.

I personally are all for marriage, why not. if a couple, or more people love each other, let them marry. It's often a useful contract, in theory I suppose.

I don't think gender or number should be a great deal. And Polygamy should be legal same as same-sex marriage. but then both a man and a woman should be able to have several partners, and their partners should be allowed to have their partners.

But, it should also be the choice each individual holy house and their holy man or woman to decide who they want to allow to be married in their place of worship. If their god or gods find rump humping icky their servants shouldn't be forced to go against that in their holy place.

There's plenty of churches and temples everywhere and different interpretations of their respective holy scripture, that I'm sure some happy couple can find their place to have the celebration of their joining.

Or you could always just get married at a courthouse. If I do decide I'm ready for marriage, that's what I'm going to do. Forget getting married in a church. I don't believe in any god anyway, so why would I want to do that?

The chickens are neutral and just want Chick-Fil-A to go out of business because they don't want to be turned into sandwhiches. Do we need them to tell us that? I figured that out right away and I don't even speak chicken...

Except in some states, you can be fired for being gay, or not allowed to rent an apartment for being gay.

But essentially, you're saying that you'd be okay with a woman marrying another woman?

I've yet to read a response from someone to explain how gay people getting married affects them and subsequently why people shouldn't be allowed to marry (legally, not religiously) people of the same gender.

I didn't think such laws still existed, or that they'd be enforced without causing trouble.

A woman marrying another woman? I thought that was defined in the "gay marriage" phrase. And from experience it is difficult to imagine two women living together, unless one definitely runs the household.

The topic isn't actually about the morality of gay marriage; the topic title is that one company is officially against it. Is it wrong for any company to take a political stance that doesn't directly affect its commerical interests? (Obviously Ben and Jerry's wouldn't take a stance against consumption of milk. )

I admit, it's an intriguing possibility you present. Perhaps the "Endgame" of being a chicken is to end up wrapped in foil with "Wendy's" stamped on it, and that's the way it was designed by whatever creator created chickens in the first place. Maybe "Buck-buck-B-GAWK!" is chicken-speak for "please, tear me to pieces, dip them in egg batter, coat them in a fine breading, fry them and serve on a bun smeared with mayo, and please remember to add tomato for God's sake."

But I'd have to be some sort of chicken-whisperer to figure that out.

The owner of Chik-Fil-A is a Christian. The Bible says that marriage is to be between a man and a woman, that's why he is against gay marriage. If God says it's wrong then it's wrong.

Oh jesus christ. Don't start that sh*t.

What's next? They choose to be gay for attention?

Maybe some people are born gay; maybe they choose to be gay. Whichever it is, they can still live for God instead of their own selfish desires.
