I wasn't alarmed, I was kind hoping that it was true. That would have been kind of epic since they'd be going out like warriors.

Finally finished watching it and I was really impressed how well they handled the whole Splinter/Karai thing... Unlike Leo, Splinter didn't allow his emotions to take over his judgement, he knew the entire time Karai was calling for backup and instead of trying to stop her, he showed her the true and allowed her to finally understand what had happened to her...

I pretty much agree with everyone that Tiger Claw is the best of the henchmen out there.... he can fight better than all the turtles combined and he has nothing but revenge on his mind I just don't understand why he left so quickly with Karai, unless its some kind of loyalty thing hes got going on.

The whole Irma thing kinda ticks me off either give her something to do instead of always being the third wheel or just don't bother with her at all... I know they want to show April having a 'normal' life but still!!

And hey... Kirby Cameo!!!

Actually I think his reasons were summed up when Tiger Claw started "With Warriors such as these, we don't strike at their limbs. We strike at their hearts."

Shredder knew that once Karai met Splinter, sooner or later she will begin to ask questions and eventually betray him. So when Tiger Claw asks her if she understood why the Shredder sent her with him on the mission she says. "Because I know them. I know where they hang out, and I know who their friends are." Not realizing she herself is a strike at their hearts as well. Because she is the daughter of Splinter, and Leo was someone she could call a friend.

So she was abducted and imprisoned because now that she knows Hamato Yoshi is her true father she would no longer be controlled by the Shredder. And now it's simply a waiting game for one of the Turtles if not all of them to come rescue her and bring her back to their lair thus compromising their subterranean home.

This ep was all kinds of awesome. Loved how Karai questioned Shredder and finally got the truth from both Splinter and Shredder. Also loved seeing how Tiger Claw escaped and had to go through many different dimensions to get there. Mikey was awesome in this episode, and I loved seeing Murakami again as well. He's one of my favorite characters. I felt bad when he got beaten up, but he recovered. I also liked Splinter telling Karai that she is who she chooses to be not what others make her out to be and how he let her decide for herself. Sucks that she got imprisoned, but I had a feeling that was coming, and those storyboards were real after all. Tiger Claw is definitely a formidable opponent, and I have a feeling we'll see more of him in future episodes. Overall, a very awesome episode. Can't wait for next week.

That was an amazing episode. Definitely one of the best in this season for me personally. A great episode that kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end, and the final fight scene was amazing. Good to see Murikawa again as well.

It was good to see Karai finally realizing the truth, Tigerclaw was awesome as well and I just loved the interactions between the turtles overall.

One small nitpick would be that they brought Karai to their Lair too soon, but it also gave Mikey a moment to shine with his idea. I enjoyed Mikey's portrayal in this episode.

Mikey is still himself but felt more natural, still funny and there were hints he's smarter than he usually let's on. It was nice not seeing him "hyperactive" all the time.

The music when they were running out of the sewers with Karai to get to the slaughter house. I got chills! It's was the 90's Training montage music!

I don't know how you guys do things here when it comes to discussing parts in new episodes, but on this Adventure Time forum I go on, you hide spoilers with a spoiler tag the first two weeks after a new episode, so I'm gonna do that same here.

---

This is easily one of the most on the edge episodes for me.

Spoiler:
The whole thing with Karai finding out that Shredder lied to her is definitely rough. Not to mention that 'almost getting killed by a automated saw' thing. I am excited to see how they continue the story next episode. Hopefully there are a lot of Leo feels. And maybe even some Donnie feels if they start showing more of the shipping stuff.

Amazing episode made better by the passing of the Bechdel Test.
Well done, Nick TMNT Staff. Well done.

So badass. That fight scene in the butcher shop back room was awesome, and I especially liked how the turtles' eyes went from having pupils to not when the light dimmed.

Just...amazing.

Our policy is pretty much "Don't go in the thread made for discussing your thoughts about the episode because obviously there will be spoilers there". So don't sweat the tags.

The way all 4 Turtles entered the beef room in a line was so badass! Followed by the epic music, foreboding lighting and fantastic angles made that scene unbelievably great.

I'd say this is in my Top 3 Nick TMNT Fights:

3. Turtles Vs. Tiger Claw
2. Splinter Vs. Shredder
1. Turtles Vs. Shredder in The Gauntlet

OMFG!!! I LOVED this episode!!!! Hands down, the best one YET! That said, I really wish Tigerclaw's return had been done with more than just a few simple flashback sketches. Wanted to see more on that. But other than that, my thoughts are simply this: in the words of the "Lego Movie" song, EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!!! The entire episode was so amazing, I honestly can't really find anything wrong with it. Nice shout-out to the Archie books with Casey's line calling Tigerclaw a "Cat-Man-Dude". Also, the meat-locker scene was just incredible, and someone mentioned that it seemed reminiscent of Predator 2, and I concur. I knew it felt familiar, and now I know why. Also, the saw going in the middle of that EPIC battle was just the icing on the cake.

Splinter's meeting with Karai was so perfect- I can't think of any way they could have made that scene better. Her emotions through the entire episode were great. Doubt, guilt, confusion, disbelief, betrayal, she went through it all. And the storyboards were real.... Hmm, wonder what that means for that other one? Also, the speculation of Karai becoming Venus- I would be okay with that. I like her, her character is already well-established, she IS sort of their sister, and already her background and personality are light-years better than the NM version. The only other route I can see them going with her is to turn her into Ninjara(Alopex?).

I just watched this, and it certainly lives up to its expectations and is perhaps the best episode of the season so far. In addition to the OT Cameo, we had Don saying "if we have the allotted time" with regards to helping Casey, clearly a nod to OT Raph. Shredder's reaction at the end is what chilled me the most, as it showed his biggest punishment of anyone yet, and it shows that once you lose your honor to the Foot, you are in deep trouble and threatened to execution. I agree with the final battle in the woodshop room; the buildup with the Turtles sneaking, Tigerclaw grabbing a katana and sai, the close encounters with the saw, the deafening silence free of music, the betrayal of Karai causing her to be taken away, and the aftermath of Michelangelo being injured make this one of the series' most memorable moments. IMO the closest to a Tiger Claw in the OT would be if the tiger that was freed in the Catwoman From Channel 6 mutated.

Overall: 9.5/10

Wow, just imagining the OT Turtles going out at all gives me goosebumps. Never got to experience the death of Superman comics as a kid, but I imagine I'd get a similar vibe if they were killed off. I'm very curious as to how TC managed to get out of the 87 world and honestly wondering what a fight between him and the OT turtles would be like. He was such a beast in this episode though. I love that kitty. Kept hoping for someone to yell,"Hold that tiger!," but no dice. haha

Yeah I agree Splinter probably would have killed him but think of all the old toon plots and how many crooks and mad scientists there are.
I guess there never would be any other mutants since they wouldn't have the need to make them either.
And yeah it was more of a comment that he replied to on Facebook.

Yeah, he's a BAAAD kitty, alright. I like him already! Somehow, I doubt he actually killed them, but it did look pretty bad. Which brings me to something I forgot to mention earlier. Others have questioned how Mikey's shell could get knocked loose, and my theory on that is that Donnie was referring to his plastron. Since it is the smaller and thinner part of the shell, and is only connected to the carapace by the narrow bridge section, it's possible that it got pulled loose from the muscles and skin that connect it to the rest of his body- ie, tearing at the edges around his limbs, or even cracking and separating from the bridge. We couldn't really tell from the brief glimpse of him after the battle, but Since it's the only part that isn't completely fused to his skeletal structure, that's my guess.

I was thinking, if these rumours about Karai being mutated are true, then what would she become? It seems like a lot of the people behind this series are diehard turtle fans and as such, probably loathe anything related to next mutation, so her becoming the next Venus is unlikely, but not impossible. If anything, I'm thinking she'd become a fox hybrid. Why? Well first off, the writers seem to actually know a lot about Japanese culture and history outside of stereotypes, so it wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume they know about Kitsune myths. For those who don't know:
Quote:
While some folktales speak of kitsune employing this ability to trick others—as foxes in folklore often do—other stories portray them as faithful guardians, friends, lovers, and wives.
(wiki article on kitsune)

Given those basic descriptors, a fox "kitsune" mutation seems a perfect fit for Karai. She's stealthy, tricky, clever, and manipulative, but at the same time she's also a passionate and caring person deep down. If she were truly evil, she wouldn't have cared about her origins, and would have finished off the turtles long ago. Plus, a ninja fox is a lot easier to market IMO. I'm sure nick and playmates are well aware of the inevitable crapstorm that would ensue if they tried to reintroduce Venus, regardless of how well written she is.

I'm certainly not opposed to her becoming Venus, I'd actually love to see someone do a female turtle right, and would love the inevitable toys and merch that would come with it. I just thought I'd add my two cents, hopefully it made sense?

I'd guess that, assuming Karai rejects Saki after recent developments, Shredder might punish her by mutating her into a rat to match her true father. (I'm also assuming it would wind up being temporary.)
