couldn't really get into this episode. Whether scary, weird or funny, other TMNT episode had done it better. just overall an empty experience.

That would just be great. And if that moment isn't number one, I'd absolutely love to see what tops it.

I don't think it was a reference to anything; pretty sure it was original to this show, but of course I could be wrong.

I wonder if Raphs dream is foreshadowing the dark Raph story that he could be tortured, emotionally, spirtually and mentally (obviously not physically that be too dark) to become dark Raph.

It might have references to the movie A Clockwork Orange.

Since they revealed that April can use her powers to try and enter other's minds.

There may be a chance that she does the same in the Demon Donnie episode to try to snap him out of his demonic state and bring him back to sanity.

I've been getting frustrated with the episodes of season 3. Generally speaking, they're pretty much all movie rip offs, mostly horror, adding little to the ongoing story, however with this episode I really got into it and started to just enjoy the concept, that for now the TMNT have taken a break from their usual lives and are alone in the middle of nowhere. What better place to live out every horror movie ever made. I'm totally on board now!

On an unrelated note, my wife's uncle is called Dave Beaver, so I couldn't wait to tell her!

This episode skyrocketed to become one of my fave episodes ever.

Love the horrific nightmare world. Absolutely twisted and insane.

You're too wimpy/scared/tired? Go watch mlp or something.
It's not a matter of being too wimpy/scared/tired. It's about taste. If you love horror elements, good for you. This season is perfect for you. But some people like other genres, and TMNT can fit them too, like drama, comedy, action, or any combination of genres.

I just dislike when some horror fans make fun of people who don't like horror by calling them names. It's not called for.

So um... No turtles this Sunday morning or what? Guess I missed this episode. They really need to stay consistent. Not everyone has the time to keep up with whatever time they decide to air this show.

I didn't notice that, I'm surprised he was famous enough to be doing all of those posters and things. One or two pages back in the thread somebody posted shots of the magazines and one of them in an upper row mentioned Chris Bradford, but it was a bit too blurry to make out what it's saying. I can't help but be curious as to what it's saying, as it appears to be quoting him and might give a slight clue (however tiny) as to what is going on in the city. If he mentions anything about aliens, then we know that the EDF people haven't been censuring the press about the invasion.

The new eps are just too OTT, ridiculous, and down right dumb. There is no witty humor, or truly hysterical moments like before. I have a feeling it's all due to the fact that this new guy, Brandon Auman, who wrote a few of the dumber episodes, and did some editing of the better ones in the past is all of a sudden head writer and head producer, and the guy probably doesn't know what the hell he is doing. The producers/Nick is probably spending all of their production costs on big name voice actors which nobody but a small group of people in the world really give a fu^&*ck about, but in the end, short changing the writers. You could have the biggest name celebrities you could think of in a movie/tv show, but if the writing sucks, not all of the oscar caliber acting in the world is going to save it. I think they should hire some really good writers to come back and draft some better thought out plots. Right now, the show is slowly losing my interest. Only reason why I hang on, it's because I'm a TMNT fan. But, what are the regular "casuals" going to think when they tune in? I bet they will be flipping through the stations, see TMNT, and wonder how come they are fighting a weird big foot, instead of using ninja moves against a serious opponent.
I guess the only episode I liked out of the ones you mentioned was Cockroach Terminator, the others weren't as interesting to me. I think it might have been because they were literally a bunch of mutants of the week, and that got old after a while. I can't help but like Season 3 because half of the creatures they come across aren't mutants, either being demonic entities or a borderline mythical creatures (Bigfoot.) It makes it feel like there is a diverse cast of enemies, something I know people were complaining about a bunch because it seemed that every new enemy that popped up was yet another mutant.

Once they get back to New York, there will be more MOTWs. Shredder and co won't have much development outside of briefly interacting with the Turtles, and we probably won't see a resolution to Karai's mutation until the season 3 finale. I don't begrudge the Hampton stuff, because it's honest about what it really is, and that is what makes it so fun for me.

It's been that way for the past few months - every episode of season 3 (and the last few episodes of season 2) have aired on a Friday. I think you just haven't been watching til now.

Yeah but they would rerun the episode 11 am every Sunday. I've been watching every new episode this way. This was the first week that for whatever reason, didn't air TMNT or any cartoon this morning. Just some teen live-action show.

I didn't even realize they were still airing Sunday mornings, otherwise I would've watched. Yeah, then I guess they'll only be on Friday nights from here on out (unless this week was a one-time exception or something).

And then it needs to be a DVD/Blu-ray set. Well, maybe with a label parents would buy. lol

I feel like it should be for something, but I think it's just the group-shouted "Shut up, Mikey!" from the movie that's making me think so. (Or maybe that's what was intended.)

Dave has to be my favorite Beaver. Most chilling line in TMNT horror homage history. "Uh, hi! I'm uh Dave Beaver! I'm usposed tah scare ya." I just loved Mikey's reaction to him when he showed up in reality. "Hi Dave!" Sans the whole life draining bit, Dave seems like a good enough sort. lol

I simply cannot stress this enough: This is my favourite episode of season 3 so far.
  • As a huge horror fan, I have a huge appreciation for this episode. I got every single reference and I love when that happens. I'm also a fan of metal, so I of course really liked Raph's dream a lot.
  • Donnie got another kiss from April! Oh wait, nobody around here cares.
  • Reading all the crazy stuff in the general store was a hoot.
  • "Shut up, Dave!"
  • My favourite part was the comic book style sequence. I'd love to see an entire episode animated that way.

Nope, it reminded me of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Which is what was intended.

The voice of the general store owner was Bill Moseley and the chainsaw had The Saw Is Family on the blade.

A reference to Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.
Isn't "The Saw Is Family" a reference to the 3rd movie as well? I watched it recently and it said that on the gold chainsaw too.

Northampton arcs have always been synonymous with themes like isolation & introspection. It used to be about the turtles finding themselves & having down-time, leaning new things about one another & the world, getting in touch with nature, etc. Instead it's just been weekly wonky wacky weirdo monster/mutant madness.

Don't bite my head off for this because I do actually agree with you, but Black Nerd Comedy suggested a rather good theory as to why we're getting so many horror themed episodes these past few weeks:
