Playmates Vintage Remastered

Varner does almost all the sculpting for Playmates, always have. They're terrific by any measure. They may not always have the correct information to work with so sometimes certain things are off from the final TV/Movie, whatever.

The orange peel skin does not bother me as much as the wrong heads on Donatello and Leonardo. With that said, the Movie Star turtles top these by a mile. There was more to the Movie Star turtles than the real reptile rubbery feel. Each individual turtle had a lot of personality in their sculpts. Playmates was just better in the 90s.

Hmmm I'm not so sure about that, and it personally doesn't bother me at all. And I grew up with the og vintage figures.

I am very much looking forward to seeing Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady and hopefully Splinter soon. I would also like for this line to stop being Walmart exclusive.

The reissues were initially Walmart exclusives and now they're at Target, Toys R Us at Macy’s, and other marketplaces.

I think Playmates will follow Mattel’s lead and sell the other Remastered figures at lots of shops.

This is Playmates saying avert your eyes from the Turtles Of Grayskull. This isn’t 2021 anymore. The TOG line is vastly better than Remastered.

Splinter and Shredder aren't exclusive to this set are they? I love the Remastered turtles to death but not enough for a second set.

Me too - I really hope it comes to the UK - maybe in Smyths Toys - they've had loads of Turtles figure sets over the years.

I am not down for another Ninja Turtles line at this point, but if I saw a 6-pack somewhere and it was discounted then I'd grab 'em.

You're dreams came true. If I ever cross paths with this in the wild, which may never happen given the glut of shelf warmers around me, it might actually be tempting if the price is right too.
