So my fears were confirmed. Mike will be played for comic relief, and the action scenes have sound effect bubbles.

God I hope they don't pull a Next Mutation and have awful kiddie sound effects in the fight scenes, that will also kill this show for me.

I was hoping Nick wouldn't dumb this show down...

I personally wouldn't confirm or deny any fears until we've actually SEEN and HEARD these clips they have spoken of. You know how different opinions were with some of us at the small fan event back last March... things are STILL changing.

That's very true. We had a very varied scope of opinions after the Nick preview.

I dunno, the Mike thing is pretty believeable. All these new writers keep turning him into a class clown.

They really should take a look at Mirage, Movies 1-3, Archie, and Fred Wolf Michaelangelo, he was so laid-back and enjoyable in those series.

The 4kids series and the 4th movie totally took the wrong direction with him, and this looks to be the same.

Do we know that this person even watched the 4Kids series?

I'm concerned too, but in the end we won't really know until we see and hear him. And besides because one clip has his goofing off, doesn't mean that it's how he'll act for the entire series.

Just because a character is seen as the goofy one doesn't mean you can't write him to appeal to both adults and children. The easy way is to just make Mike a total idiot, and that's most likely what we will be getting. Which is a shame because I am a Mikey fan but sometimes it's hard to be...

Who said that he would have a dated dialect for Nick? Did I miss something? There's nothing wrong with "dude" as he'll definitely be saying that, and people like myself and others still use the word today. It's relevant. But let's leave the rest of the surfer thing at home. He can ride a skateboard and not say "mondo" all the time, it won't hurt.

If you think Nick isn't going to use the funny character that is Mikey for being funny...then I don't know.

Disagree about the 4kids, agree that the 4th movie took the wrong direction. The 4th movie Mikey was hardly like his 4Kids counterpart.

Give me a fine blend of 4Kids Mikey & Movie 1 Mikey (which covers Mirage) and I'm set for Nick's Mikey! Even if that's not what we get, I'm going to be patient and see what Nick delivers, I'm sure I'll like it either way.

I have to say, OT Raph and Mighty Max sounded exactly the same to me. But it's been years, his voice may even have changed some since that time. I don't know but I'm sure he'll do a good job.

He was also the voice of Snow Job and Tripe Wire from GI Joe in 1985.He sounded a lot different from those 2 characters as opposed to Raph.

I won't judge 2k12 Mike until I see him in action and how he interacts with the characters. I wouldn't mind if he's like his first movie and 4kid's versions. Or maybe like Beast Boy, he was a good character.

The sound effect bubbles worry me. I didn't expect them to be 2k3 level dark, but this sounds like the show is going to be a near comedy.

I suspect that the show will have a tone similar to Teen Titans or Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go, with goofy and dark episodes since this article http://www.halfshellheroes.com/2011/...tmnt-2012.html from the Mutation in Progress which mentions they are going for a balance of comedy and grittiness for the show.

TMNT has always been "near" comedy.

I'm not really worried about the comedy aspect, just as long as they don't make a lot of the villains imcompedent and comedic. I hope that at least the show has a few "Complete Monsters" to add to the threat level.
