I got the game for Christmas, and I have to say... I'm really not getting the hate this game is getting from some people. I've played it a few times so far, and it's a lot of fun. It may not be all it could have been (as far as the roster goes, anyway), but the characters used are well-represented, and the gameplay is solid. I'm enjoying it a lot.

I know it gets some scorn for just being "Smash Bros with the Ninja Turtles"... but those are two of my favourite things! What's not to like?

I'm pretty sure people hate this game due to the lack of the fanservice promised by the developers.

I pass it. I rented it and played it with some friends tournament style. For that it's pretty good but lousy to play alone.

But thats how I feel about most fighting game personally.

Easter Egg?

Ok, quick question...

In the bottom right corner of the "turtle base" stage, is that April on the TV reporting a news story on Nightwatcher?

I noticed this on a 46-inch HDTV, but can't really make out if its supposed to be April, although Nightwatcher looks pretty obvious. The reporter is wearing a yellow jacket and has orangish hair.

Superman 64 is "f*cking bad". Smash-Up may not be game of the year material, but come on, it's a hell of a lot better than that.

So just because it's not as bad as one of the worst games of all time, it's good?

The controls are bad, story is horrible and it's really really REALLY shallow. When you can get 85% of the game done in an hour and change, there's a problem.

That's most fighting games. Fighting games aren't meant to get "done." Story and content are only tacked on to keep people occupied when they can't play competitively against another person.

True. It's the same thing with shooters.

The real meat is in the multiplayer.

Ok then. I still unlocked a bunch of **** in no time at all.

Gameplay is still terrible as far as I'm concerned. Playing multiplayer only made it more awkward because then it's 4 people playing a terrible game.

Not expecting to change your mind or anything, but I still don't see why the gameplay is so "terrible". It's basically a more grounded version of Super Smash Bros Brawl, and I think they both control pretty well. A bit hectic, yes, but that's due to the nature of the game design, not some flaw in gameplay.

If you're comparing this to something like "Fallout 3" or "Batman: Arkham Asylum", then yes, it is shallow. It's a fighting game! Fighting games, by nature, are pretty shallow. The story modes in fighting games are almost always rather short, but they're a lot of mindless fun and have a ton of multiplayer replay value. "Smash-Up" isn't breaking any new ground or anything, but it's a good fighter as far as I'm concerned. I've had a lot of fun with it so far.

I've played other brawlers in the same vein as Smash Up. Even the first Smash Brothers had a lot more to offer in terms of things to do. Don't try to educate me on how certain types of games are.

Everything in the game feels clunky and unresponsive. Everyone moves like they're running through sand. Getting up off the ground is a chore, GETTING OFF THE GROUND. Overall, it feels really really cheap. Like it was made in 2 months and put out just to get the dollar of most sheep turtle fans. Good thing the price will eventually drop to match the quality.

I was looking in Walmart ads a couple weeks ago. $20. Down from $50something that it was at originally.

Oh and to clarify. I'm on the 'I feel like I got ripped off' bandwagon.

nice find. I can't really make out what the picture is of but im assuming its the stuff you said.

I also have a question about that stage, if you pause during the battle, doesn't part of the song match the OT theme song?
