So, go let them. The last time the studios listened to parents backlash with a TMNT movie, the movie made half of what the first one made. Lets hope the studios don't make the same mistake again.

i have enough crazy parent friends who do this stuff all the time
They'll deal. The 80's cartoon was sticky gooey goodness, and it reared a great hard PG movie. And if the parents are that worried, they have the internet to help them make the decision easier.

I'm curious though, the trailers still say this film is not yet rated. I wonder what the battle is. Is it getting it to a PG-13 from possible R-Rated content, or, I shudder, getting a PG rating with PG-13 content?

I read somewhere that both April and Vernon in separate incidents say sh!t. So, we already got two sh!ts and an ass confirmed.

I don't think they can announce an official rating until the MPAA has reviewed the final cut. Because it's technically up in the air until then. It doesn't necessarily mean that they're in limbo, right now.

PG-13 is fine for these movies. Parents don't object to that like they used to. And if they keep the profanity at Marvel levels, there shouldn't be any problems with parents.

MPAA is weird though. They gave Mysterious Skin and Blue Valentine NC-17 ratings, but yet movies like The Rising Sun and The Watchmen R-Ratings, when their content was much worse.

Okay, after all they've done with the movie that's been seen as wrong to the fans, I highly doubt they give a damn about the soccer moms who are going to get angry and drag Little Billy out of the movie theater.

I swear, I saw Transformers and this soccer mom freaks out when they drop the f-bomb and drags her kid out of the theater. "SOCCER MOMS, LET'S ROLL OUT!"

I don't know those movies, but I'm sure PD will do whatever they need to hit the rating they want. If they are having problems, I bet it's the weapons. For some reason, they're a ratings pain...

Those stupid parents (aka adults with nothing better to do) should be electrocuted for being complete dumbasses.

Anyway, I don't mind the turtles swearing. I could expect that from Raph.

Personaly, I would rather them cut back on the swearing all together justso they can squeeze as much violence/action/martial arts instead....maybe even properly use thier weapons during a fight....just saying

o.O

Well on the plus side, the parents now are the original fans. (Cue feeling ancient.) Grandma and grandpa can simply stay home and not be the ones to take the grand kids to this one.

They're probably rolling their eyes anyhow remember their own child's Turtlemania days... that may not have stopped. lol

Personally... swearing isn't necessary to make a decent movie good. Mild bad language and suggested language, go for it. If ya gotta fill it with it though, just trying to make up for something...

I can just see that now, some kid comes home from seeing the movie, grabs his Raph mask and plastic weapons and lets loose with all the bad words that spilled from Raph's angry mouth... yeah that'll work well. lol

I wouldn't mind any of the turtles using the word Ass in some way, Like Donnie's "Allow me to be Bad-Ass for once."

Raph could say something like "I'm going to kick your ass!"

I'm pretty sure Mysterious Skin got a higher rating due to the gay content, child abuse backstory for two of the characters, the fact that there was a scene where someone was sexually assaulted and the fact that one of the characters was a gay prostitute.

The ratings board is much more comfortable with high levels of violence than sexual themes. god that movie was depressing!

Wow, some people got to get their priorities straightened out. So she was fine with a man getting turned into steel and Ratchet being butchered and discected but she walks out because of a bad word.

Sex trumps Violence every time, in the eyes of the MPAA.

A film with alot of sex is quicker to get an NC-17 than one with alot of violence.
