Just watched it. It was pretty good...not my favorite, but a good intro to the rest of the season. I must say, I was not impressed by Mikey at all. I usually like Nick Mikey, but his jokes aren't usually so...random. Talking cupcakes??? And as others have said, I can understand that mutagen is random (Timothy) but I till wonder why Kirby cannot talk as a mutant. I even said that to my boys as we were watching it. Granted Timothy seems to have lost his mind as well...so who knows. Don was good in this episode. He had some emotional moments. I can understand April being upset. She's just had a huge emotional blow...I just hope she gets over it soon!! Looking forward to the rest of the season!

Well, that was a decent season opener, however, Mikey's bone-shattering stupidity sort of kept me from enjoying it fully.
Also, why are the turtles over indulging in their victory, did they just up and forget that the last time they got this cocky, they got their asses handed to them and damn near died? Also, I hope April doesn't become a colossal b*tch as the season progresses.

I thought this was OK.
I think it's the first time I didn't laugh out loud during an episode, but came close at the various expressions as the rocket zoomed by.
Setting April against the Turtles was a strange thing to do, and I hope they have a plan to resolve it.
And is this a set up to have mutagen monster of the week shows?

Also, I REALLY wish we wouldn't have to suffer through any more angstgasms in the show. If it's going to happen almost every episode, it's going to get old..Very fast.

I loved this episode and thought it was good for a season opener. The Turtles getting cocky about their victory is understandable because they just saved the world and feel that things will get back to normal now. Sure, they didn't learn their lesson from before, but when do teenagers ever learn their lesson right away? They don't. I felt sorry for Kirby though having to be mutated like that. Poor guy just gets reunited with his daughter and they have to turn him into a bat. As for him not touching the bat, I think he did on the way down and they just didn't show it. Mikey was funny in this episode, and I think him telling April the truth was the right thing to do. He was only feeling nonchalant about it because he figured that since they saved the world from the Kraang before that it would be an easy fix. I loved his costume as well and him calling Kirby Wingnut was pretty cool and a good Easter egg. April being mad at the Turtles was a good twist and a great way to develop her character since so many here are so mad about that. Overall, a really good episode, and I can't wait to see what else they do with this show.

I (mostly) agree with what you said. But why would they assume that everything would be back to normal? Teenagers or not, they REALLY should have known better. Why did Mikey have to blatantly tell April about the cannisters?
It's questions like these that suggests that the show is suffering a severe case of sequelitis, and that the turtles have learned NOTHING from the first season.

I do hope they patch things up between April and the guys. I don't want her to turn on the turtles join The Kraang in helping to destroy them or some crap like that. I understand her being upset but yeah that was heavy. Also, its in Mikey's character to say the wrong thing at the wrong time.

The parts I loved in this episode were:

Donnie's face when he says "it has butt cannons" and then the bio droid is shown shooting at the turtles with the butt cannons with its hands pressed against the wall like he was twerking.

And the dramatic hamster homage was awesome!

My overall take was this was a good episode, not great, but the set up into the rest of the season is great. Makes me much more excited for the next episode and moving further forward, so in the end, the episode did what it was supposed to.

Finaly got to see the episode on iTunes, it was pretty good, but not as good as I thought it would be.

The Good

-Turtflytle was pretty cool.
-I liked Kirby's designs
-nice new opening images
-Timothy and Metalhead appearence!
-I liked the Dodgeball scene
-good ending
-DRAMATIC HAMSTER/MEERCAT!!

The Bad
-Mikey is getting dumber each episode
-Every episode this season will probably be a toy commercial

My better half and I were discussing April's reaction at the end of the episode over dinner last night. Becca was saying that April's still just a kid herself and she's naturally going to cope by getting angry with the guys. Bec's mom passed away from terminal cancer that was thought to have gone into remission not too long ago. Another family member of her's dealt with it the same way April seems to be dealing with her father's mutation if that makes sense. It's not an easy thing having someone you care about being ripped away from you especially after you think the danger has passed. So yeah, people are often going to say things they don't mean in situations like these. Lashing out at others closest to you when faced with such a situation isn't very pretty and I'm not saying it's the right thing to do, but it does happen and it's to be expected from time to time. It's all part of being human. So needless to say we weren't all that surprised when seeing April do this. We also agree with ya 100 percent about Mikey's honesty. We feel it was him simply doing the right thing and that it had nothing to do with the attempts of writers to dumb him down.
