Ah, of course TRU has to be the best place to get amiibo... it along with Best Buy are the two stores I don't have access to. [I technically don't have access to Target either, as it's an hour's drive away, but my brother does.]

Also, my Sonic amiibo arrived today! ONE headache out of the way, time to deal with more!

I'm pretty lucky. I've got Walmart, Target, and Best Buy all within walking distance of each other and Toys R Us a five minute drive up the road. Anyone checking best buy first thing in the morning? I'm hoping for Sonic and Megaman.

I called my Walmart to ask about the amiibo [since they've had Sonic and Megaman's tags out for a week now] and they told me they aren't going to get anything so there wouldn't be any point in hitting anywhere up tomorrow... but I'm going to anyway since Walmart is where I go cash my cheque

But they did say they've confirmed that they are at least getting those two along with Sheik, but when is anyone's guess. What's WITH this wave?

Most people are saying it's because of the port strike. Iwata included. It's also being blamed for the shortage of the MM 3DSXL.

Edit: Scored a Meta Knight at best buy. They only had six and one Mega Man. Unfortunately, I was third in line and the scalper who was first got Mega Man.

Gamestop's stuff is delayed, too. At least here. Sonic and company will be on sale the 25th.

Got paid today so at least I'll be able to afford Wave 4 preorders when they go up.

But I didn't manage to snag anybody today. My brother arrived at Target too late to get anyone, and Walmart and Gamestop both haven't had their shipments come in yet.

I got Sheik and Megaman from a gamestop and I have Shulk on order. I'm done with this wave unless I see anyone else.

I finally managed to get Ike and Megaman ordered. Now I'm ready for Wave 4.

Will there be individual amiibos for the Koopalings? Or just the one for Bowser Jr.? I'm guessing the latter.

I'm going to pray it's just Bowser Jr. As much as I would LOVE some Koopaling Amiibo, I can only imagine the nightmare of there being so many variants.

Yeah, considering we didn't get male Wii Fit Trainer, I'm going to guess we're just getting Bowser Jr.

So. Ness is a Gamestop exclusive, Jigglypuff is a Target exclusive, and nobody knows what the **** is going to happen with Greninja.

I think Greninja being surprise announced for Wave 4, along with Jigglypuff, is a pretty good indication he'll be an exclusive. I feel the Amiibo stress coming back, gang. I checked reddit, Twitter and several other Amiibo sources multiple times last night.

Ness is going up for preorder this afternoon at GameStop in the US, so if you guys want him make sure you're following them on Twitter and have a GameStop account, complete with billing info, fully prepared and signed in. Ness is sure to go quick and be highly sought after.

F*cking stressed about this sh*t already. God damn Nintendo and their mismanaged bullsh*t.

I'm just gonna give up on amiibo. Not a fan of the stress or constant searching. Definitely getting Mewtwo though.

I don't blame you. It really is super stressful. Even as someone who's managed to get every Amiibo and score multiples of most of them, it stresses me the hell out even thinking about upcoming waves. We're months out and, in my case, life changing events away from the other waves, but I'm still losing sleep over them.

Tell me about it. I had to wait 8 hours at a Walmart for the Golden Mario amiibo only because I knew for a fact that they had them there despite what the employees were saying. They were seriously the most incompetent workers I have ever seen because the box with the eight amiibos were right in front of their faces the whole time and it took eight hours for an employee to finally come in and take them out. I can't ever imagine going through that again. At least we were able to snag 6 of them between 3 people.

Anyways, evidence out there now that Greninja is TRU exclusive. Employees saying he's showing in their system this morning.

Jigglypuff preorders sold out in ten minutes. Luckily I have a contact in the UK keeping an eye out for both it and Greninja for me; the latter has been confirmed to be a Toys R Us exclusive and preorders for him go up tomorrow.

We're in deep, friends. Gamestop is offering in-store preorders for Wave 4 including Ness at 3pm EST today, and they will probably go up online as well at around that time.

Make sure to stock up on Monster and toilet paper.

Also seems like Gamestop will be doing a "Wave 4" bundle that gives you Ness, Lucina, Charizard, Wario, Robin and Pac-Man. It's not discounted, but at least it's an easy 1-click for people looking to get the entire wave. Then people only need to worry about the remaining exclusives.

I hope this comes to EB in Canada as well, because I'd hit that and only have to worry about Jigglypuff and Greninja. Though, if they do do this, Jiggs might actually be included in that bundle here in Canada, since Target exclusives seem like they'll be getting the Rosalina treatment here.

Anyone wanna take guesses on the rarity of this wave going forward? I see it like this -

Charizard/Wario - Common after the initial rush settles ala Zelda/Diddy/Toon Link/Sheik
Pac-Man - Uncommon but still plentiful. Analogous to the other third-party characters in Sonic and Mega Man
Robin/Lucina - Rare and impossible to find. Short stocked and high demand. If you don't get them in the first week or so you'll never get them. Restocks will be almost non-existent.
Jigglypuff/Greninja/Ness - One shot at them. Pre-order or day one in-store are the only options.

Also, I'm getting absolutely no f*cking work done today. Amiibo's are the f*cking worst.

You'd think by now Nintendo would have learned from this... sigh.

But yeah, those are my rarity predictions as well. I'm so, so lucky enough to have a brother that's willing to take me down to Gamestop for my preorders today or I'd be **** out of luck for Ness.

To give this post a little more substance, here are some texts from my brother when I told him about this mess:

I'm just pissed at how Nintendo is handling this in general. They are making us jump through hoops for the privilege of giving them our dollars

What's next? A scavenger hunt? "Follow the clues and you'll find the store that has a selection of random amiibos you may or may not want!"

Then you get there and it's all Luigi, and you have to get another treasure map, which itself you found as a message in a bottle in a sea of messages in bottles

Possibly guarded by a guy dressed as Wario that you have to fight

Why do they make so few of these? Did they find them in an Egyptian tomb somewhere? Are they a gift to Nintendo from aliens? Did they come from the future?

It's pretty awful that they won't take pre-orders [at Target in-store] of all things... seriously, does each amiibo contain a shard of the Shikon Jewel? Is that why?
