And with that attack flinging toward his pupils, he recognized the attack coming. He quickly snatched her wrist and threw her over his shoulders, watching her fly through the air and hit the ground with a loud thud.

Stealth tried getting to his feet, but for what use? Rex was just too strong for any of them to touch, and with his display of strength, the obstacle just seemed even harder.

"Is this what has become of the mutant race?" Rex asked tauntingly. "Then I will lead this new revolution of mutants. I will condescend upon all of you impudent weaklings and climb the ladder to the top. I will push every single one of you from sprigs to trees! You will all reach your maximum potential, only to serve me!"

"But what about the MAU?" Stealth asked. "Haven't they taught you anything? Anything at all?"

"As a matter of fact," Rex replied. "They have. They have taught me to do things on my own terms and my own free will. Why save this wretched world when you must do so in secrecy? That is but flea-bidden nonsense. The day I do not give credit for my own saves is the day I announce mutants inferior to humans!"

"Why not think that we're all equals?" Stealth said.

What am I saying? Stealth thought to himself. Humans and mutants as equals? Maybe Tiger can change a life!

Tiger was in imense pain so she spoke from the floor "You don't understand...killing, rebellion...it all makes it worse." she shook her head "Humans will never be inferior to mutants...theres just to many humans!"

She stared at Stealth then to Rex "I can change mutants into equals...I have the power to do that....yet you would still dispose of me?"

"Would I still dispose of you?" Rex laughed. "HA! Why should mutants become 'equals' to the human race? We've lived under our own shadow for years. Mutants have been dispised from generation to generation. Tell me, my dear, which mutant can you think of that has made history in this country, let alone this world!"

Stealth looked over at Tiger, hoping that she would have an answer to his little remedy. He attempted to stand on his own two feet, but could only make it to a knee. Rex gave Tiger a little smirk, hoping that he had stumped her. He knew, to his knowledge, that there were NO mutants that became historical to the country or the world.

Rex had his hand on an AK-47, as it was held in his belt, hoping that the wrong answer from her would result in an immediate kill...

"So perhaps none have...yet, but does it tempt you to be the first?" She stared at him for a moment "If I please I can make Stealth the first mutant in history to do something great...I can make simple humans worship the groud he walks on...All with a simple word from my mouth." She took a quick glance at Stealth then looked back at Rex "I Can make you the first, Rex...If that's what you want."

what the hell am I saying Tiger thought to herself What exactly is my plan, what I speak is the truth, but if he takes my offer, that means my freedom. She sighed, nothing in her mind ever made sense to her...she couldn't ever remember a time when she looked before she leaped.

Rex slowly released his hand from the gun. He chuckled at Tiger, in a menacing way and approached her. He knelt down beside her and cupped his hand under his chin, then peered into her eyes.

"You pass the test, dear." Rex said. "You gave me the answer I was looking for. Not the fact that you could make me a historian, because I can do that for myself. But there has been NO mutants to make history."

Rex released his hand from her chin and gave her a quick slap in the face. He turned his back on her and continued talking to her in a methodical fashion.

"History is not my intention, history is not my motive." Rex began. "What you fail to realize is that mutants are in a time of crisis. Did you know that there are human organizations that devote their lives to making sure that we become extinct? Do you see scientists trying to reserve us? No! You see us being put in these experiments. We're no equals. We're more of a nomadic tribe, trying to wander from place to place until we can find a secure area to dwell."

Rex looked over at Stealth, as his arms are behind his back. Rex walked over to Stealth and shoved a boot in his gut. Stealth fell to the floor, clutching his stomach.

"You'll die for this Rex!" Stealth yelled at Rex.

"Shut up, you hideous ingrate!!!" Rex yelled back, and gave Stealth a backhand slap to Stealth's face.

Stealth dropped to the ground, as Rex laughed.

"I pity you, because you have nothing in this world but a few guns and a blade. And what better than a love that will die from my fury!"

Rex looked back at Tiger. "Perhaps I can make her my own queen of the mutants. But you know what, Kitty? I'll give your little invitation a whirl. Speak your voice. Bedazzle me! What can you do to make me king of the new generation of mutants?"

Tiger stood up boldly and placed herself between Rex and Stealth "That Human Organization you spoke of...I once was the leader of the troops, They seem to think I was kidnaped by mutants and have been searching for me for the past three years or so...If you were to return me safely, they would trust you fully." She paused for a moment planning her next words carefully "Once returned I can get you any of the top secret files...anything you desire."

Tiger glanced over her shoulder at Stealth, at least for the moment Rex might cease his beatings. "I I will let you take command of my troops...once human has been turned against, The simple humans will be blinded by confusion, and except you willingly as thier new leader." She paused for a breath "I have great influence on my underground military base."

poor Stealth, I wonder what he's thinking in all this Tiger thought Hopefully he has learend enough from the first incident with Cory to know that I would never truly abondon him.

Rex chuckled a bit in Tiger's face and gave her a quick glance. Who knew how this would culminate to. Whether this was a set-up or not, he knew that he was too intellectually strong to be deceived. He stroked Tiger's hair and placed a hand on her cheek.

"So... you can truly help me... eh? he asked her, "Because if this is a set-up, I will be more than willing to eradicate you from existence, is that understood?"

He quickly removed his hand from her cheek and gripped her arm.

Stealth didn't know what to think. He stood on the ground with blood coming out of his mouth. What could he do to alter this crazy situation? He was unsure of what to do. Why Tiger? Don't let him! he thought to himself. He knew that if she were telling the truth, this could me the condescending of Rex. Maybe he was a hot shot in the MAU, but owning the world was different. Sure, there were other mutants out there, but Rex's abilities were uncanny, compared to other mutants. He was just too quick to detect.

Rex brought his face closer to Tiger's, waiting for a reply...

Tiger flinched when Rex touched an her bottom jaw quivered, as she suppressed her Instincts to lash out at him "I understand." her voice was submissive and she dropped her eyes to her feet.

Tiger glanced back over at Stealth, the scar he had shared with her crossed her mind "Wait...How do I know that once you have what you want, you wont just kill me anyway?" She took a step back from Rex

"Yes, I could help you...but there is no guarantee my life will be spared when I become a thorn in your side." She flared her nostrils "How do I know I just won't become another Stealth to you?" She growled.

((OCC: *Ponders the meaning of the past exausting homecoming week* Sorry if my post have been a little....well you know.....they just shoved final exams right smak dab in the middle of homecomingand I'm still recovering! Thoes fiends!

Rex gave Tiger a very sly look, with a wide grin across his face and an evil glow in his eye. He held out his arms and began to explain, "C'mon Kitty... what would possess you to think that I'd deceive such a beautiful creature? I can be as trustworthy as a diary."

Stealth tried yelling to Tiger, "No Tiger... don't do it!!!"

Unfortunately, Rex lashed out a pistol and fired it at Stealth's side. Stealth shrieked in excruciating pain, as his blood flowed from his side like a rushing river.

Rex looked back at Tiger and placed an arm around her shoulder, then brought her closer to him, their eyes locked. He put up a very evil grin and spoke his words to her, "Believe me... when I become king of the mutants, I will reward you the position to be queen. As for Stealth, he can either be a jester or a meat for the lions' den. I'd rather he become a jester than a meal for my pets if I were you."

Tiger bit her lip causing it to bleed "Tempting..." She said softly, more to herself than anyone, then she backed away from Rex until she was beside the bleeding Stealth "but perhaps another time...I just can't trust someone who has complete control over weather I live or die...words, promises don't mean Sh*t coming from you." her voice tone was calm

She kneeled beside Stealth and placed her hand on his shoulder, but still spoke to Rex "I just couldn't live a happy life always wondering when you might see it fit for me to cease existing."

"You b*tch!!!" Rex yelled and held out his pistol, which contained a scope.

Rex held his finger on the trigger and a loud bang echoed through the air. Rex stared wide-eyed at Stealth, an evil glow of delight in his eye. Was Stealth dead? Rex laughed out loud, as though he were delirious. He looked down at his diaphragm, and there stood the stain of flowing blood.

He had been shot, but by who? He looked straight ahead, seeing Stealth place his pistol back in his belt. Stealth struggled to get to his feet, as Rex dropped his weapon and fell to his knee, then to face-first into the ground.

Stealth wrapped his arms around Tiger's body, needing assisstance on getting up. As he stood straight up with Tiger, he embraced her. "Glad you're alive kiddo."

Stealth wasn't sure if it was a tear running down his eye or a trickle of blood. He wiped his eye and found that it was both. The blood, the sweat, and the tears it took for him to confront Rex for so long had finally came to a close. His long journey to killing Rex was finally written and the final chapter was read. Stealth continued to embrace Tiger, thinking of his younger days with Rex and his most recent with Tiger.

"I'll never forget the old bastard," Stealth whispered in Tiger's ear.

Tiger sighed relieved, as Stealth embraced her, somehow Rex had opened her eye's even further and she now saw the path before her. It was a new path one of suffering and hardship for her, but in the end it would lead the mutants to being equals to humans. Yes, it would probably cost her her freedom, and her memory of who she had become, but it would be worth it if Stealth and others like him could walk amongst humans without ridicule, without shame of being different.

Tiger would have left it at that, but there was a question hangging in the back of her mind, and it itched at her untill she could stand it no longer "Stealth......what are you going to do now that Rex is dead?" She whispered to him "You have had so much rage built up, for so long.....do you have any other goals to keep you going?"

Stealth slowly released Tiger and looked down to the ground, pondering the remedy for her remedy. It was a good question, but what could he do? He thought about it, and replied.

"Eh... start a new life. I can't guarantee that my past will be gone, but it's a new present. It's time I grew up and faced the world for what it was."

Tiger nodded and backed away "I have a few things to take care of myself....Don't forget me, for I will never forget you, Stealth!" She kissed him one last time,not a kiss on the cheek, but a real true kiss "You know where to find me if you ever need anything, my blaconies always open!" She turned from Stealth, a pleasant smile on her face, and swayed towards the exit.

Stealth stared at her back, wide-eyed, as he dropped to a knee in disbelief. He didn't know what to think. He looked at Rex's body and knelt toward it. He was dead alright, no pulse was detectable.

Stealth didn't know what to do. Maybe this was where he drew the line from here on out. Tiger wouldn't escape his mind, and neither would Cory (wherever he went in the skies). Stealth had come to realize that throughout this whole situation, he still didn't know what to think of humans. He and Rex were fighting for the same cause. What would possess him to kill his own kind? But what had possessed Rex to be so hell-bent on killing Stealth?

Things rushed to him in queries. They never left his system, all near impossible to answer. Is tomorrow guaranteed? Will there be a day that he could come to terms with humans? Will he ever see Rex again? He was unsure, but this was it. And what about that Brodie fellow? Where did he go all this time? He was never present anymore. But it was all right. He was still alive somewhere. Maybe Brodie was his next target. But then again, maybe he could spare him.
