I just read a post. I kind of think that shredder escaping explosions, as well as beheadings, watertower falling on(which I think too), is getting old, but I am used to it and expect it, they just want to chose up that story line and go onto another storyline.
All this with Shredder surviving and baxter diminishing, and hun falling down something is just like the old series of when shredder and krang tried to bring the technodrome back to earth somehow and when they did it always got sent somewhere (Dimension X, the earth's core, Dimension X again, the arctic, the bottom of the ocean, Dimension X again, then stranded in Dimension X). |

He's got more lives than a couple of furry vigilantes that I know! And the same goes for Shredder! Yeesh!! ENOUGH, already!!!!

Wheee! I thought it was an awesome episode jam-packed with action, suspence, humor, and tragedy! Yes, tragedy, I became quite attached to Zog and felt very sad for the guys at the end.
And the violence! Ooh, that was such fun to sit through! Mike got involved quite a bit and that was great! I think I was giggling the most when Zog was separating those cyborgs as if they were mere pieces of wood. And the one-half cyborg pounding on Zog's arm was hilarious! Loved how Don got to clean up some Foot in a classic cartoon smoke with punches and kicks emerging. That was a movie 1 reference, by the way. A movie 2 reference is Don having a watch beneath his left wristband. Though, no matter what universe, I always assume he has one on him! It's probably one of those watches with a built-in everything. Hehe. Then, there's the interaction between Leo and Karai, a love that will never blossom as long as there's a war to be dealt with. Even though she didn't strike Leo this round, Shredder may very well poison her mind to the point where she will not fail him again, and that means the final strike will make actual contact! I'm up for some more one and one battles anyway! They're cool to watch! So, do we say good-bye to Baxter now? Nope, he also had a falling-out exit; he will definitely be back! The interaction with Don was pretty funny, though. "Stockman? Is that you? Man, you really let yourself go!" Then, Baxter slams himself against the glass, making a squeak sound! Too funny! Well, I'm going to Southern Faire next Saturday, but not until I watch my show first! |

Hehe I loved that Baxter and Donatello moment too. And as much as I wish Baxter would just die I loved the end. @.@ Really I'd love to know how Baxter could get a new body at this rate...I mean at least when he was a head he always had some sort of robot body to help him along....now he's absolutely nothing but a brain in a jar with an eyeball and voice thingy.

Great episode all around. The fighting and action scenes were fantastic. There were a lot of thrills because you didn't know what was gonna happen next. Will Karai kill Leonardo? Will Hun crush Splinter? Did Zog drown? What's gonna happen next? It was just so edge-of-your-seat.
Zog was probably my favorite character in the whole episode. He just kicked so much arse. Just when you think he is down for the count, he gets back up and kicks some more arse. He ripped those Foot Gunner robots apart. He beat the crap out of Hun. Zog even gave Shredder a run for his money. It was touching at the end when Zog sacrificed himself to take down Shredder and save the Turtles. It made me even more sad when Shredder actually survived after Zog had given up his own life. I've got my fingers crossed that Zog will return. I mean, Triceratons look like they have pretty tough skin. It looks as though the Turtles will have to "watch out for Shredder" right on into season three. You just can't kill this guy, um, Utrom, um, whatever. One realization I made today about Shredder is that he doesn't go down without a fight. The Shredder in the old cartoon would always just run away when things starting going down south only to return the next episode with another scheme. This new Shredder keeps fighting and fighting until the bitter end. He doesn't run away when things are looking grim. He could have tried to make an escape today, but no. If he was going down, he was going to take the Turtles with him. The Turtles never have to say "Shredder got away again, but we'll get him next time." It's usually more like "that looks like the end of the Shredder," but Shredder keeps coming back again and again. He's definitely a more dangerous adversary than his previous toon incarnation (not that I having anything against the old cartoon because I don't). Even after all that work to take down the Foot ship, all the major players will probably come back. Hun was thrown overboard before the ship exploded. The Foot Elite disappeared to somewhere, as usual. Shredder lives (although missing a leg), and Karai is there to pick him up. And once again, we find Baxter Stockman still in the land of the living. I don't know he managed to survive the numerous explosions. I would think a piece of shrapnel or something would have cracked his jar, but oh well. Good good good episode! I think it was even better than Rouge in the House Pt. 1. |

Forgot to say, they never fully mentioned how Shredder survived!!!!!!!!!!! When the turtles and shredder met, shredder did not say how to them.
They only showed the evil utrom in the tank and worms around him and the worms were healing his flesh. Still how did he survive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That explantion in the 2nd paragraph I have is not enough. How could he have survived the implosion in Secret origins part 3. |

The best thing I like about this episode is Zog stealing the staring role of the episode. He did the narrating and he took the Shredder real good. Wait ago soilder!
I knew there'll be a Zog Vs. Hun battle, Just what I wanted to see About time to see another big Guy or Dino I like the part when Don sees Stockman as a brain. "You really let yourself go" Zog really toor the Fake President & Prime Minster into bits. Karai came to her senses and not slay Leo. But she still has honor for Shredder. i guess she won't batray him yet since he trained he to be a henchman or woman for leading the Foot in Japan. I know she'll make her choice in Season 3. The best scene was Zog grabbing Shredder and died with him to the ocean. I knew he won't survive since in the comics he died. Don't know if he survived since his Nitrogen tank could expire anytime. he did what was right, he may not know his comrades are turtles but he did them a good deed. He died for his own Republic like a real Soilder would do. My rating 5 out of 5 stars. It'll be a while to see Karai & Shredder again. Stockman might find a robot body later on if he can float to shore. ~In the Memory of Zog, he died for the honor of Triceraton Republic~

I think Kari's will be nutral both on the good guys and bad guys team. Both.
I think that after what I saw in the rouge in the house diology and city at war eps and that shredder raised her and she gave her word of honor to the turtles. Something else, Shredder did not get very far with the president robots, since they were destroyed today. Will he make more foot meches since that was his only supply. MAybe shredder will go with his domination plot. I wonder if maybe he will let his revenge on the turtles think take a little step back to focus on world domination, since he may know the same outcome will happen. What if they in a 3 parter have shredder in charge of a whole plot and have the turtles not face him at all. wait they did have shredder without his uniform in all the eps from 1 to the shredder strikes part 1(#10). As for the shredder surviving getting old, they have had 5 shredder battles and shredder strikes back was the only one where they did not show him cheat death, since he got away after locking the turtles, splinter and april in the claset and setting the place to explode. 4 times is still enough for it to be expected. In the return to new york I 60% thought that was the last we would see of shredder since his head got cut off, his building got shut down and that the turtles went out of their way to get to his throne room to have their final battle with shredder, but then I was half not surprised to see him survive since he is the main villian, though he has been in less than half the eps, and they need to keep him. |

If he was human he would be dead back in RtNY. Since he's Utrom and has ways to survive an explosion he'll be in the series for a LONG time.
Good to see an arch villian coming back for more. "The bad guy always comes back"

Frankly, I'm surprised that people want the shredder to stay "dead." That's one I don't get. Especially when some of the biggest problems people had (including myself) with the Next Mutation, Movie Three, and the last part of the original cartoons is that Shredder was wiped out for them.
While Dragon Lord, Dregg, and the Daimyo were ok characters, you still can't erase the MAIN bad guy from the picture. You can have him go away for awhile, but there always needs to be the shadow of him/her in any story looming somewhere in the background. The only time I've ever seen the opposite happen was in Aladdin and the King of Theives. There was no Jafar, but the story dealt specifically with the 40 thieves, so it didn't matter that much. It would have been great though, to somehow have him around for the cartoon series, if perhaps they had Return of Jafar after the toon was canceled. Anyway, on target with TMNT, if Shredder ever did go for good, I think it would mess up the show pretty bad. So far, we haven't seen any other bad guys who could really be the staple bad guy. I sure as shell don't ever want to see garbage man again. As far as the body count, I'm adding leatherhead, despite any spoilers, since he hasn't yet appeared in the show. So the TMNT body count is 5.

Oh the foot lost members in the war (was stated last episode) The purple dragon's and the Mob probably did too. Sure we don't know the body count but we do know some people died in the war.

Maybe more foot soilders and elete died when the ship sank, but they could have anbandoned in time.
How come shredder survived, but Zog may not have? One thread here said Hun should have said the turtles are not the republic, That would have worked!! and Hun would do something like that. They did not show Hun when Kari picked up shredder. Maybe Hun must have swam back or somehow. again Maybe he was what pulled baxter under. |

I think Shredder survived cause his armor had a MUCH higher melting point than Zog's suit and himself, and the armor protected his Utrom self from the heat, keeping him alive.
Plus he died in the Mirage storyline. *sighs* I missed the first half of Rogue in the House and only heard about 2% of the dialogue this ep. I suppose I'm gonna have to wait till the reruns to watch 'em. Oh well...
