So ... I'm thinking about finally picking this game up.

Barring everyone's disappointment with the roster, is it fun? I'm a big Smash Bros. fan. If it really does play competently and similarly to that with TMNT characters, I'm sold. I'm really just looking for a new Turtles game that's fun.

Best strategy for the Survival Mode is just to spam wall jump attacks when enemies are at a distance, and position yourself right next to a new enemies' respawn spots so you can quickly grab them at the beginning. It's super-cheap, but it's effective.

It plays like a very very very cheap version of Smash Bros with awful controls and a lack of......everything. Seriously, TURNING AROUND IS A CHORE.

If you want a mediocre Smash knockoff you're better off with Cartoon Network's punch time explosion XL.

Barring the bad roster? (And the criminally misleading marketing)

Yes. As a Turtles fan, and a fan of the Smash bros formula... I did find it fun.

I mean, don't expect even half of what you'd find in Brawl, content-wise. But I found every little variation of the game to be enjoyable.

Survival: I'm a big fan of this mode in fighting games. You will face up to a 100 random CPU opponents (or as long as you survive).

Swap Out: This should have been in BRAWL, but it wasn't... I found it HERE instead. You basically switch out for a second character. They don't share a life meter either.

Online: Pfff... Miles ahead of Brawl's. (Though don't expect to be facing many opponents in "Match Making" since a very few people face others in an un-arranged fashion).

TMNT Feel: Well, yes, it feels really TMNTy. And feels a lot more "ninja" too. Wall sticking, climbing, and diving. The throws look stylish too.

Brawl Feel: It's an odd one. Feels kind of like a mix between Brawl and SFIV to me. It's definitely a bit floatier than Brawl, but that doesn't mean it's a bad thing when the movesets are cleverly implemented. It gives the game that Yuen Wo Ping type Kung Fu film vibe... and I think it's great (minus the wall walking).

If you're not sure, look at videos. Look at the online tournaments (they convinced me to give the game a try).

I do believe Fugitiod is not on the Ps2 version.

I thought this game was dull and worthless, and I'm even able to enjoy Arcade Attack. Have I said this, before? Sorry if I'm repeating myself; just odd to see a bump to this of all threads.

Gotta say, I bought this game used and haven't been back to play it since the first night I got it. Not exactly what I was hoping for.

What would you want to see in a TMNT Smash Up 2?

For me:

Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady, Baxter, Ninjara, Slash, Tokka and Rahzar, Dogpound, Fishface, Alopex, Venus, Hun, Mona Lisa, Mondo, and Dregg as playable, tighter controlls, and boss characters, such as Snakeweed and the Technodrome.

I only need Metalhead (added to the ones you suggested) and I'm cool.

I'd love to see more Old Toon themed stages such as Dimension X, Channel 6 News building, and perhaps one themed after a whole episode (such as the one where the whole city is flooded).

A stage after 2003 toon (for example Battle Nexus tournament)

A stage after TMNT2:Secret of the Ooze (the place where Vanilla Ice sang while the turtles faced Tokka and Razhar... Vanilla Ice included in the background singing).

Music based on the two TMNT arcades.

For now, I guess that's it.

This game is pretty awesome. After all 3 smash bros, this is the best "Clone" of the genre. Even though shorter on content, I find it far better than the overhyped All-Stars Battle Royale, with all due respects to the fans.
