Also, I found a simple and space-effective way to store my figures and accessories- Wal-Mart has some plain plastic storage boxes in various sizes from very small (2x3x2) for small parts, to larger ones that can fit up to ten figures standing upright. (As long as they don't have a lot of big body parts that stick out too far, like tails and such.)
I've tried using fishing-line for posing, but it's not stable. Maybe I should just start using jeweler's wire. i bet you can get some cool aerial poses.

Nice idea with the bins! I've been hiding my stuff away in fairly-expensive Michael's storage bins.

Yay! My lair pieces are finally starting to arrive, so I shot off a couple of pics to give an idea of how it will look when It's all set up.

Note the teddy bear in the corner, and the bonsai and Da Vinci book! I'm especially please with how the bamboo mat looks. (And Donnie's diploma from the OT episode is there, too!) Also- there's a little Easter Egg in that book on the far end- It's the Evil Dead movies' Necronomicon, LOL!

Good times, one thing I really dislike about the movie figures though,is the fact their various "loin cloths" impede some sitting positions.

Yeah, that was the biggest problem with posing Mikey. I tried bending it a little, but it just won't bend much, or stay when it does. That's why I ended up turning the chair around so he could sit a little better. Seems to fit his personality, too.

I actually assumed that was the original intent with him using the backwards chair. Well sometimes adjustments necessary work in favor

Debating whether to cut the top of the box off for better lighting and different angles. What I eventually want to do is connect several different sized ones together to make the actual OT lair layout. I have seen the playset- wasn't really impressed with it visually or for versatility ans size. Want to do my own take, though I was thinking of buying a few of the parts to add a few tubes and arches- that sort of thing. Not sure, I'm still working out the details of how it will work. I already have Raph's bed. I used screancaps of all their rooms to get an idea for each room. His is sort of nautical/piratey.

I had a lair, put a lot of work into it, but it's just too big, with poorly used space. I actually built a lair into a cabinet. Three shelves eedicated to bedrooms and living space/kitchen. One shelf a dedicated sewer level, and the top shelf will be worked into a Shredder's Throne Room. I did make the walls removable, in case I wanted to utilize the space for other scenes. I also have a street level on top of a dresser, that I all need to do some work on. With a a brand new baby in the house (7 weeks old), and going back to school for my nursing license, I have limited time to work on things though.

I'll have to post a full image of the cabinet display eventually..

Thanks, CD. What I have in mind is to cut and arrange the boxes, and make it where each piece opens up so I can do pics from different angles. And they can store by nesting them. (The props will obviously be movable so the boxes can fit inside each other easily.) Cheap and versatile. And easy to store.

Try looking up just lair parts. I know I've seen a few sold individually, but I don't know if the listings are still up.

If it's parts for the vintage 90's one, check out myteefinestuff.com but if it's the current one just email Playmates & tell 'em the parts you need broke, lotta folks say they happily replace those sorta things.

Donatello and Jigawatt (Donnie's MOUSER): Still have work to do on the sewer walls.

The Foot: Throne Room idea totally snagged from Orokuyoshifilms. I painted the the throne and pillars thoroughly to get rid of the plastic sheen.

Most of my layouts are built inside a cabinet that allows levels to act as staging grounds, and allow me to close it off when my 7 week old gets older and starts trying to explore more.

When I get in later today I'll probably post the overall WiP on the customs sub forum.

Those are really beautiful. Can't wait to see more!

Kids- heh, my only problem is that my cat likes to get right in the middle of what I'm doing, and acts sulky because I'm using "her" box(es) for my project. She made a nuisance of herself yesterday when some of my figures and parts came in. Kept trying to stick her nose into everything, LOL! And the day before that, she ended up asleep in one of the boxes WITH my Leo and Raph that I'd been trying to pose. I gave up for the time being after that. She's gonna really hate it when I take them all apart..... Cats are weird.
