Don't know why sales aren't good
It's finally in color and it's a great story. And it means I don't gotta shell out for the expensive ones I am missing from original run

Yeah, it’s really a fresh take on the TMNT and a lot of fun. Was hoping sales would be higher to show a desire for adult tmnt content. I suspect a lot of people aren’t really aware of it.

I'm reading through some of my original Image issues I found and it's funny to see some names I recognize in the letters section. In just this one there's Rosemary Reeve, Michele Ivey, and "Andy" Modeen. Even at the age of 15 he was "damning" the cartoon.

It’s pulpy but surprisingly good. And the art is fantastic. The new covers rock. The crossovers that show up later are lame but everything else is great. I like it almost as much as the IDW series, more in some ways as it’s willing to go darker.

Finally caught up on issue 5 colored. Man, this series is far more enjoyable in color for some reason, I'm not sure what it is.
I really enjoyed this opener. Pimiko is Shredder's daughter (which would wind up being Karai in every future incarnation, but Pimiko started this), and we get a nice story arc about a Dragon Lord, a Monitor lizard mutant, and of course Don becoming a cyborg. I always thought Splinter becoming Man-bat was a bit ridiculous, but it was an easy way to keep Splinter out of the story for awhile and have the Turtles figure things out on their own. |
