Hopefully this means that MJ and Peter can finally be together and that Peter can grow up.

I hated Didio, and also hated Quesada. But it's the entire industry that's crooked now. I doubt this changes anything. They're too cowardly to be truly innovative anyway. |

I would dream of the day Didio would be fired. Geoff Johns, too. But yes, everyone they've let into their ranks is horrible and infinitely worse.

And honestly? Let's say we get some idealist in that wants to make 'sweeping changes' to Marvel/DC. What...can be done to fix comics? Another reboot? Starting from absolute scratch? More events? Less events? |

Of course, to make this not suck like right after it would need to involve firing almost everybody over there.

But... As you said, they don't have the talent for that. They won't have the patience to coordinate the continuity either. They'd need to be on the absolute same page across dozens of different titles, and they'd need to restrain their writers from doing too many goofy or dumb things with the characters. I just don't see it happening realistically. Ever. Like, if ANYTHING, it'd be more likely that they just scrap everything save for their 'biggest name' heroes then start from absolute scratch than for them to reset to right after Brightest Day. |

So can Marvel characters finally smoke tobacco again? He's the one who kept that from happening, right?

And here I was hoping for a big issue that was nothing but JJJ and Wolverine smoking cigars in celebration...

At this point I honestly believe that his leaving will have zero impact on Marvel, be it good or bad. |

Of course, heroes should not make deals with Satan either, but that's a whole other kettle of fish.... |

I'm okay with fictional characters having flaws even if those flaws are things I'm not at all in favor of in Real Life. I think it's ridiculous that the goddamn Penguin can't even have a cigar or cigarette holder anymore because "Think of the CHILDREN!" They got Harley Quinn inhaling coke in a movie and nobody bats an eye; in fact, they play it for laughs, which is a ridiculous double-standard. ------------ And yeah, as far as DC goes, in a perfect world everything should go right back to "Brightest Day" like everything since was just a bad dream. Most of those storylines never even got finished. I wasn't in love with every single creative choice but it was way better than everything since. -------------- I have nothing to say about Quesada since I don't read Marvel. Always sounded like a smug prick, but I agree that it's highly unlikely any regime change will "fix" whatever issues are going on over there. As pointed out, DiDio leaving didn't help DC one bit. The problems with the industry are systemic, and far bigger than any EIC. Until comics "just" get back to telling super-hero stories again, instead of force-feeding people a bunch of "identity politics" crap nobody cares about, nothing's ever gonna be any good. And that's not gonna happen, ever.

Yeah - bought it off the racks as it came out back in the day! And his work on The Ray too!
