I mean... if Mondo starts making ThunderCats AND Turtles (unless it's really nice stuff like the Jim Lee version here), I can't see Super7 lasting long. Dependent on the scale, anyway. The Real Ghostbusters line they're doing is 6.5", but I don't remember if they announced a scale for ThunderCats.

Mondo's not without issues, of course (there's absolutely no excuse for Jubilee's skin tone not being uniform on a nearly $200 figure), but they run circles around Super7 in almost every measurable way.

If I remember correctly, the ThunderCats line is deluxe scale, which really sucks because I am a hardcore ThunderCats fan and have the Bandais, Mattels and Super7s. I just can't afford it. The Super7 version is currently a hybrid of the comics, toys and cartoon (similar to the NECA Gargoyles line), but their recent figures seem to be more inspired by the toon (e.g. Willa, Hachiman, Alluro, WilyKit...)

However, if Mondo are considering 6.5" Ghostbusters, this opens up a realm of possibilities. Imagine if they released X-men in that scale, especially with Zelu on board. That would literally annihilate the Legends and Selects line. There's nothing even close (perhaps, the Kotobukiya line but those were short-lived and stactions).

It's possible that Super7 may carve out a niche for themselves if they are able to market the 2k3 figures properly with superior quality assurance, similar to what The Loyal Subjects is doing with IDW. They really need to make a memorable impression and release a few more heavy hitters (e.g. Traag, Usagi, Napolean and Chrome Dome) before closing the vintage line.

If/when they show the 2003 line, will that mark the end of the original toon line or will they support both lines?

Only asking because I didn’t grow up on 2003, so figuring out if I need to round out the few I’m missing currently.

IF it is no longer the original Playmates stuff, they'll never admit it because they know that'll cause some fans to jump ship.

I believe on one of the Veebs "interviews" Flynn said they were going to alternate between 2K3 and psuedo-vintage every other wave.
