Willem Dafoe is allegedly on the set for Spider-Man 3

https://comicbook.com/movies/news/sp...-green-goblin/

Quote:
New reports indicate that another major Marvel villain is joining the packed cast for Spider-Man 3, with original Spider-Man villain Willem Dafoe reportedly reprising his role as Norman Osborn AKA the Green Goblin for the Marvel Studios movie. A new report from GWW indicates that Dafoe is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While it's not immediately clear who Dafoe is playing in the project, given the fact that Spider-Man movies (and, more recently, WandaVision) have brought back franchise actors in their older roles, it's likely that the actor will once again play the Green Goblin.

Neat. I’m still in a “I’ll believe it when I see it” mentality with this movie. Some of these rumors are nuts, even if I know they’re credible.

"You know, I'm something of a cameo myself."

Guess all that remains is a trailer to affirm some of these rumors besides the return of both Molina and Foxx. Still wary of the movie either way.

Like I said, it's the best possible way to get the Sinister Six. All the characters have been formerly introduced so you save a lot of time on character development.

Sinister Six is a given at this point. Sony has been trying to make it happen in one form or another for nearly a decade now. The Daredevil showrunner nearly did a Sinister Six film for Sony.

It's an interesting way to do it, having the villains be from separate universes, but I can't imagine you lose anything by doing that. The whole drive behind the SS idea is to just turn the threat level up to eleven, and hopefully they pay off on that. But it's not like it was ever driven by inter team drama or backstory. Part of the excitement is also seeing characters you know come together, and I still find that idea exciting with the way they are approaching it.
Just don't let Peter clean this mess up without losing something in the process.

I'm surprised William Dafoe is only 65 years old. I mean he looked old in Spiderman and that was back in 2002! I thought he was over 70 by now.

But will Spider-Man actually be in the movie with him?

Or this is more in the vein (sorry) of Morbius and Venom?

A couple years ago, the writer was mentioning Kraven's Last Hunt, so you know Sony is at least aware of that story, but who knows at this point.

I hope they start off the film with a nice, thorough recap of Far From Home, so I can more or less forget it exists.

I still haven't seen it. Got the DVD for super cheap and it's been sitting on my shelf for what feels like years now.

Still no interest in watching it.

ALSO couldn't even fucking remember what it's title was.

Nah, I prefer to reside safe in the knowledge that I'll never be kicked to death by a bunch of angry artists.

Gonna tell Sony and Disney where you live, amigo. Lock your doors.

I have all seven Spider-Man films on my shelf. I never opened up the two Amazing ones or the two Home installments. The first three films have been opened up and watched x number of times.

Ha!
Well I can't say it's all bad. There is some fun to be had, but the script is hard to take seriously and inconsequential, other than the post credits scene.

Reviews were comparing this film to the Matrix and calling it mind bending (lmao) when it really just has a few insignificant special effects scenes.

****, I don't like being so hard on this movie. The summer vibe it goes for does have some merit.
