Is this considered "hot" to anyone? She is looking frail and gaunt, hardly superheroine-esque. Like a super skinny Heath Ledger.

And why her tits are almost on the level of her stomach? Not a flattering photo. |

Her current state reflects that of the MCU’s, if you ask me.

She stinks but this type of thing is why her "haters" end up looking bad.

She doesn't look unhealthy to me, just way too skinny, badly dressed and with no make up at all.

That is Captain Marvel? She just reeks of liberal wokeness and fragility.

It's not a very flattering photo at all, though. In response to Sumac's query about her saggy boobs I was gonna just say "She's getting older", but a quick skim of Wikipedia tells me that she's only like 32. So yeah, that's a bit unfortunate. I guess she just doesn't take care of herself.

I know. For example, I've seen a ton of people defending Lizzo's right to post nude pics, and I think Elon Musk should send a rocket ship full of those people straight into the sun. Like why not just go to the zoo and sexualize the goddamn elephants? It's the same goddamn thing at that point.
I do look forward to the days when women can be hot again and that's not considered a shameful or immoral thing, just to work out and dress to impress... but I think we've got a long way to go yet. We're still very much in "Being fat and hairy and dressing like a complete slob is empowering to women" phase, right now. ----------- Also not gonna lie, when I first skimmed this page and hadn't noticed the boobs yet I though that was a picture of Matt Riddle. Brie... is one of those "always wear makeup" types, apparently. Some chicks look fine without it, but she's apparently gone a bit too heavy on the coke and vodka over the years so she probably needs a few layers on before she's "presentable". Like, every hot (or even Hot-ish) chick starts turning into Chelsea Handler after too long on the Coke & Vodka Diet, it's just unavoidable.

I just realized, despite trying to use terms like thick, plus size and whatnot, they still call it FATphobic. Strange.

Yes, that's it. We're scared of fat people. Terrified.

I'm with Lois Griffin's brother Patrick, aka "The Fat Guy Strangler".
Which is to say, being fat is immoral and indecent. I don't quite take it as far as he did, but I agree wholeheartedly with his principle, if not how he chooses to express himself. I however, personally, refrain from strangling fat people because it takes far too long. On account of all the chub under their multiple chins prevents one from getting a decent grip on them in the first place. It is not a very efficient way of disposing of fat people, and is perhaps only the second least-efficient way just before begging them to diet and exercise. The most efficient would be to simply drop a crate full of Entenmanns into the ocean on a crowded beach and let nature take its course. I have very strong opinions about fat people.

She's unsure if she'll ever reprise the role, seems like she doubts anyone even wants her to:

Could be:
A. Nothing B. A clever way for her to get press. C. She actually feels that way. It does seem that Marvel slowed down the hype-train for her character. It's been too long to remember what Feige was saying about her, when she debuted, but I seem to remember a lot of implications that she would be the new "face" of the MCU, and we've seen nothing to reflect that in the years since. They could have tried much harder. I don't know. She annoyed me with her lame comments and apparently vain personality, but I feel a little bad for her at this point, if that is the case. Simply because I don't think anyone is deserving of the type of hate online-mobs are capable of dishing out these days. It's just too much for anyone, imo. Some of it is necessary, but it's not measured. She's gotten it pretty bad. At this point, I hope she takes her supporting role in the MCU and is happy with it. That'd be nice. |

Do we think The Marvels will bomb? If so, I've got to wonder what Marvel/Disney will do. If she's not even useful to prop up Ms. Marvel and the other one, what good is she?

Well, legitimately and without any sarcasm, does anyone really care if Brie Cheese comes back after this movie? As in a normal sense of caring about it?
She gave a lackluster performance each time she played the character, she seemed kind of bored and confused every time, the first movie had a bad plot, the character's arc makes no sense in any of the movies, the character seemed to exist more for weird meta reasons than to be compelling in her own right, the writers seem to struggle to figure out how to fit her into any plot and her entire existence is an obviously ham-fisted retcon. The only people who seem to care are the ones in favor of the weird meta reasons, which aren't even an expression of appreciation for the character or any of the movies themselves, more like a weird calculation of pop culture perception. And to be honest, to those kinds of people it doesn't even matter if they even go to see these movies or not, what matters to them is that a lot of people do and are thus exposed to something that fits criteria of what they consider to be good in a... Cultural sense, I think? Like, if these movies were a niche thing that barely made any money or cultural impact, it would have been irrelevant to them if Carol continued to be a character in them regardless of whether or not they watched the movies themselves. And had the biggest movies on earth instead been about gender-less alien blobs with almost nothing that could relate to humans or human culture, these people would still push for there to be a character who ticks the same boxes by which they judged Carol Danvers to be an important factor. |
