Naomi CW Superhero show gets script development deal
One of DC’s newest superheroes—so new, she doesn’t even have a superhero name yet—may be joining The CW’s DCTV roster.
The network announced today that it has given a script development deal to Naomi, a new one-hour drama series from executive producers and writers Ava DuVernay and Jill Blankenship and based on the groundbreaking, highly acclaimed comic series from Brian Michael Bendis, David F. Walker and Jamal Campbell. Produced by ARRAY Filmworks in association with Warner Bros. Television, details about what to expect from the series are limited, but the show’s logline suggests that it won’t be too far removed from what we’ve seen in the comic: Naomi follows a teen girl’s journey from her small northwestern town to the heights of the multiverse. When a supernatural event shakes her hometown to the core, Naomi sets out to uncover its origins, and what she discovers will challenge everything we believe about our heroes. https://www.dccomics.com/blog/2020/1...ming-to-the-cw

Your answer is, "It's on CW."

I pretty much see the name "Ava DuVernay" on anything and I'm already tuned out. She literally only does woke stuff.

I mean CW has a whole Pantheon of DC Characters to ask DC if they can do and they go with the one nobody has heard off. I swear CW just needs to change their name to Diversity network

The Naomi book truly came out of left field and it was a rock solid read. I'd be excited about this show to see where they take it, but Naomi I think is ultimately sort of revealed to be a part of the Green Lantern universe.
So between that expectation, the CW's history and Ava DuVernay, I don't have any upfront faith or good will for this show. I also had really high hopes for her rumored New Gods flick which has been bantered about for I think 3 or 4 years now, but nothing has come of it. |

Naomi is pretty much the only thing Bendis did right at DC (besides that awesome Batman Universe story), so I'm excited for this.

It's like they afraid of the woke crowds to develop another well know DC character series that has no woke attached to them...smh At this point, might as well stick with The Canaries...at least that looked interesting based off the Pilot episode. |

Three more regulars added to the cast and a director/co-executive producer assigned to the pilot

Wasn't it ultimately revealed that Naomi was part of the whole Lantern spectrum thing? Are they going to have the budget for that? Because if this show unfolds as a high school drama completely it's going to be a disservice to the books, which were pretty good.

Just imagine they cast a straight white conservative woman to star in this show..... just imagine the riots breaking out & the effigies burned to rage against that casting. Just imagine. Thats all.

They already did. Hypothetically. The tolerant left determined there is no place for half of the country in anything of the sort, or any sort they have any kind of say in.

I'm a little more optimistic than that... but if we were to view various plateaus as "battle grounds," the realm of entertainment in the mainstream arena has been lost for a while now.

So not only is the Naomi series not part of the Arrowverse, it will have it's own version of Superman

My grandmother's name was Naomi, and believe me she was NONE of those things!
