Have you ever thought of running for political office, IMJ? You would make a great precinct delegate, I bet. It's easy to get on the ballot (the two times I've served, I literally had to fill out one form), and it would be a solid way to get plugged in to your local party, meet people who agree with you, and actually do something "real" with all your passion for the topic at hand.

Google something like "how to become precinct delegate (your city)," and you should be able to find what you would need.

Seeing your name on a ballot (the same one as the actual President of the United States) is a trip. And we've met some amazing, amazing people over the years doing the actual work of knocking on doors, canvassing, phone banking... it's awesome.

Well, seen you've been banned for something, so you may not get to see this. But different countries, different laws. We have minimum notify periods and layoff payments here. In many US states, you have "at will" hiring and firing, so you can be gone the same day with no notice or severence other than a cardboard box on your desk for your things (yes, that "stereotypical" Hollywood film exit does really happen) and security escorting you to the door. It's normally part of the company wide policy to follow when you are hired, much the same as don't steal their stuff, don't spend all day on social media, and don't spend too long on toilet breaks.
