Ugh. 2022 was looking to be a great movie year, but now they keep pushing everything further and further back.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mario and Spider-verse got pushed back to late 2023 or even 2024 at this rate.

We know that the Mario cartoon worked relatively well in the 80's, so really this movie should have no problem in an animated form with the content.

People generally were not so much nitpicky crabs who couldn't wait for something to fail so they could take the piss out of it Back Then as they are Now. And yes, that includes me.

The internet has removed any middle ground between Trash and Perfection and so everything nowadays MUST fit into one of either category, so I ain't holding out hope for a goddamn thing.

Well... counter to that I'd say that Sonic wasn't high-art by any means but pulled it off well. And it even managed to be enjoyed while doing the dreaded "bring the character to a real Earth" thing....
