BBC America will be airing an hour long farewell show Christmas Day to Matt Smith.

Narrated by Alex Kingston, the special will feature David Tennant, Arthur Darvill, Karen Gillan, Jenna Coleman and Steven Moffat amongst others. It will air at 8pm ET with the 2013 Christmas special following at 9pm.

Loved both the anniversary and Christmas specials, had me crying on more than one occasion each episode..

One thing I hated when David Tennant regenerated was his last lines.. Loved Matt Smith's!

Have always been a fan of John Hurt, ever since I saw Alien and The Elephant Man when I was a kid.. He's got one've the most amazing voices ever... Loved him as the War Doctor.

Smith and Tennant together might've been the best thing ever... A joy to watch!

could that woman who was the head of the church (can't remember her name) be River Song? The way she was with the Doctor, and there were a couple of lines (I married her / flying the Tardis) made me think that, and then nothing else was said. That's my theory right now, anyway!

Oh, and how amazing that Capaldi is keeping his Scottish accent!!

An Adventure Through Time And Space was also amazing! And very emotional at the end...

I just watched my 50th blu-ray and the xmas special on dvr....man I really hate to see matt go. I am looking forward to seeing what's next but it's going to be hard to follow the tennant/smith run!
Now it's time to start watching from the beginning again. I cant wait to watch them all from the new blu-ray boxed set!! My wife has never seen it so it'll be fun to watch with her.

I just watched "The Beginning" DVD and all of the special features after the movie "An Adventure in Space and Time" prompted me to check out the original Doctor's first stories. I didn't care much for the caveman story but overall it was a very interesting watch.
The pacing was much slower back then and it's not a series you can just sit and watch straight through. The special features were very thorough and informative though and I liked the original companions (though Susan could be annoying with her excessive screaming).

All in all, a perfect way to cap off the 50 year celebration and Matt Smith's final tour of duty as The Doctor. This is the first time DW has won the best drama award since Tennant left.

Clara recieves a phone call from 11, just prior to him regenerating (remember Clara found the TARDIS phone hanging off the ship in "Time of the Doctor"? This is why.) 12 asks Clara if it's The Doctor on the phone and then says the same man is standing before her. She hugs him and then 12 has a breif chat with 11 over the phone
