Honestly I was thinking the opposite. Remember Kamala is a fangirl that gains powers and gets to emulate her favourite hero. If anything her costume is supposed to be cosplay-esque but that looks a bit too slick. I'm sure it'll be fine though.

WTF??! Have I EVER said or signifying in ANY way that I hate Muslims, or ANY people of Middle Eastern or other ethnicities? No, I have NOT. In fact, I would DEFEND them, against the racist, phobic crap people like you and others spew. I simply dislike the character (I've actually READ some of her comics, and they were horrible) because she is a completely one dimensional stereotype. Most EVERYONE in her comic series is, to be more to the point. It is full of poorly written characters based on stupid tropes. This is coming from a writer, so that should tell you that if another writer is disgusted by the level of actual realness and personality of a character, it is BAD. As with most of these superhero set leaks, doubly so when it's a brand new character, you just can't judge how well it will look in the show by these kinds of shots. So I think, this actually comes off looking like a pretty good representation of her costume based on the nonideal circumstances of the photos.

I know very, very little about this character though. I am sure they are hoping this will be her breakout into the mainstream which will catapult her to popularity, much like Miles Morales had with Into The Spiderverse.

It's a series. Again, if the series gives little girls a hero and they run around the house pretending to stretch ten foot arms or curl up into a ball and do somersaults after watching it, that's cool.

It wasn't made for us. This character was part of the diversity push in print sometime back, but I never saw her as a "replacement" character at any other character or fan's expense. If this does well, that's cool with me.

Okay, so.....

I hated what they did to Star Wars in that new trilogy, right? But when the Force Awakens came out I took my lady's younger (at the time) teenage daughter to go see it, pretty much on purpose. I figured or hoped that she'd get a kick out of it and, I know it's a cliche, but it had a "girl hero" and she didn't know about that going into it. She's not into that stuff normally.

But she got a kick out of it and I'll never forget how during the scene near the end where Finn is fighting Kylo and there's that moment of build up where he tries to force grip the saber hilt. And it flings instead towards Rey. Well Meli was all excited and looks at me while the movie is playing and said something like "OMG it's HEEERRRRR?!!" as both a question and exclamation. I think I said "yeah she's pretty cool!"

And those movies were dog$#!(, but you know she had a hero for ten minutes. And then forgot completely about Star Wars until The Last Jedi came out and asked me if we could go see it.

So you know.... that's all fine and good.

So yeah, I think there are plenty of little people out there who get excited with a hero that they identify with to some extent.
