Her face looks quite fat in this mask.

Yeesh. Yeah, not liking this look. She looks more like a cosplayer than a real hero. And the mask is just so "Dick Grayson/Robin" bad. Like who would actually be fooled by it? Her identity is SUPPOSED to be SECRET. Le sigh.....

Honestly I was thinking the opposite. Remember Kamala is a fangirl that gains powers and gets to emulate her favourite hero. If anything her costume is supposed to be cosplay-esque but that looks a bit too slick. I'm sure it'll be fine though.

Um, I literally said NOTHING about her size, OR gender, or ANY of that BS?? It was the COSTUME that looked like crap! It literally looks like something homemade by a cosplayer! STFU!

It's not for you.....
It doesn't matter. You aren't being an ally and your isms are showing by lack of support. It's clear that you are an istaphobe by any metric and that your cleverly veiled hatred of muslims is showing here from your commentary. |

WTF??! Have I EVER said or signifying in ANY way that I hate Muslims, or ANY people of Middle Eastern or other ethnicities? No, I have NOT. In fact, I would DEFEND them, against the racist, phobic crap people like you and others spew. I simply dislike the character (I've actually READ some of her comics, and they were horrible) because she is a completely one dimensional stereotype. Most EVERYONE in her comic series is, to be more to the point. It is full of poorly written characters based on stupid tropes. This is coming from a writer, so that should tell you that if another writer is disgusted by the level of actual realness and personality of a character, it is BAD. And that costume fully reflects that, in a character who is one-note and boring, not because of her religion or ethnicity, but because it is literally ALL she is.

As with most of these superhero set leaks, doubly so when it's a brand new character, you just can't judge how well it will look in the show by these kinds of shots. So I think, this actually comes off looking like a pretty good representation of her costume based on the nonideal circumstances of the photos.
I know very, very little about this character though. I am sure they are hoping this will be her breakout into the mainstream which will catapult her to popularity, much like Miles Morales had with Into The Spiderverse. |

I don't like this Duckie very much, but (and I can't speak for anyone else but myself) I'd be very welcoming of a more informed, more poignant and less mouthy Duckie, even in disagreement. Quote:
Not even any of the bottom feeders amongst the varied people who post here have never once called me a racist. Not even some of the most easily-challenged, low-EQ forum members who have personally got up-in -arms with meltdowns when I set them straight haven't even remotely come to implying that I'm a racist here. LMFAO! You are dumb as f'n rocks, man. I'm sure you're a hero in your f'n head though. Last edited by IMJ; 05-01-2021 at 06:53 PM. |

Also, thank you for confirming every stereotype I had about people like you, NPCwoman. Your lack of self-awareness is amazing. |

Dude.... they're just messing with you and throwing your own SJW/NPC/whatever buzzwords against you. Like maybe I'm supposed to feel bad that they're messing you, but you also can't be this eager to take the bait. Good people are good people by their actions, rather than words. You don't need to always remind or correct people of your causes, that's where self-righteousness comes in.

The only thing I know Kamala from is Contest of Champions and she's utter ****.
Have a feeling this one will be another skippable movie. Might not even be bad, but won't really be important.

It wasn't made for us. This character was part of the diversity push in print sometime back, but I never saw her as a "replacement" character at any other character or fan's expense. If this does well, that's cool with me. |

Like I say, I only know Kamala from the one mobile game, where everyone hates her. Only seen praise recently after this announcement.

I hated what they did to Star Wars in that new trilogy, right? But when the Force Awakens came out I took my lady's younger (at the time) teenage daughter to go see it, pretty much on purpose. I figured or hoped that she'd get a kick out of it and, I know it's a cliche, but it had a "girl hero" and she didn't know about that going into it. She's not into that stuff normally. But she got a kick out of it and I'll never forget how during the scene near the end where Finn is fighting Kylo and there's that moment of build up where he tries to force grip the saber hilt. And it flings instead towards Rey. Well Meli was all excited and looks at me while the movie is playing and said something like "OMG it's HEEERRRRR?!!" as both a question and exclamation. I think I said "yeah she's pretty cool!" And those movies were dog$#!(, but you know she had a hero for ten minutes. And then forgot completely about Star Wars until The Last Jedi came out and asked me if we could go see it. So you know.... that's all fine and good. So yeah, I think there are plenty of little people out there who get excited with a hero that they identify with to some extent. |
