Was saddened to see the images on the first page to be gone. I am starting to collect photos and videos that document this period of turtle mania so I'm curious about what pictures are no longer available!
Also wow I wish people would STOP using photobucket. seriously the worst image host out there, and there are lots of other free ones to choose from. Those awful awful HUGE watermarks, ugh. Disgusting. |

I worked at the now defunct Payless in the 80's, and they carried TMTN.
No pictures of course; no ubiquitous cell-phone cameras at the time, and store shelves are pretty boring to teenagers. |

Donatello was everyone’s favorite in the early 90s. The media made the mistake of believing that Michelangelo was the turtle that children of the 80s and 90s loved. The original series one Donatello was the hardest to find in the early 90s after the movie came out.

I think Raphael was the best selling turtle out of all four of them for the 2012 line. Perhaps it had something to do with the head sculpt for the first series Raphael from the 2012 line. I’m not entirely sure why Playmates left Donatello out for some of the 2012 variant waves. I agree that it was odd to see Donatello left out of a few of the variant waves of 2012 line.

A 1990 K-Mart display for TMNT from around the time of the movie can be seen at the 40:23 mark in The Toys That Made Us TMNT episode on Netflix.

The late 80's early 90's was a great time to be a TMNT fan. Literally, whole isles filled with TMNT.
