Because I like to fanedit as a hobby, It occurred to me that if you took the first ten or so minutes of Bond's screentime from NTTD (right up until he forgives Vesper at her grave) and attach it to the end of Spectre as an alternative final scene, you have a much better ending for Craig's whole era.

Some edits are available, but not all due to my darn Google drive being locked for copyright, so I apologise in advance if you can't access any links that require 'permission'. The Bond edit I mentioned will be up soon. |

I figure gay homosexuals probably excel at certain things more than non-gay homosexuals.

But ignoring all that, it seems a good end for Bond doing the right thing and sacrificing himself. |

But I guess he couldn't face never being able to ever again get close to Madeleine or his daughter. He would rather die than live with that.

I mean he could’ve make phone calls, just visit them at a distance or behind glass (eventhough it’ll feel like prison). He went through a heartbreak when Vesper died, so in comparison this one is a lot lighter since they’re both still alive tbh.
But I’ll give the man a break since he’s bleeding to death and missiles were coming at him. Sometimes irrational decisions were made under such circumstances. |

So it's made about 750 million so far. To put into perspective, with the exception of the last two Bond movies (Spectre and Skyfall, which each made around a billion), "No Time To Die" made the most money of any Bond movie before it. More than "Casino Royale," more than "Quantum." So MGM isn't left hurting over this one, for sure.

That's crazy especially when you remember it was delayed for 2 years and some probably didn't go to theaters to see it either. I also doubt most people knew about the climax or spoiled themselves before hand, so they also probably didn't see it for the hype of the end of Daniel Craig's Bond.

It turns out that life, in fact, does go on for most sound-minded people.

Danny Boyle opens up about his abandoned version of the movie, a post-cold war thriller based in modern Russia which explored Bond's origins.

You know.
I've never been much of a James Bond fan. My ex-boyfriend had me watch basically everything from Connery to Brosnan. I didn't like most of them, though I did find Moonraker very amusing ( I'm ready to get stoned). I watched Skyfall in 2012 after hearing good stuff about it, and I enjoyed it. I still wouldn't say I was a fan of Bond or of Craig's Bond. But man, when I read the spoilers for No Time to Die, I thought it was the dumbest, most insulting bullcrap in recent film. Well, there's probably worse out there, it's just that as a fan of...things, I still felt offended on behalf of Bond fans. It's really no different than what they did to Luke Skywalker or John Connor, both characters that I do (...or did) love. (For the record, I felt the same way about Sex and the City, another franchise I don't actually care about, though the sequel thing they did recently also felt like a slap in the face to anyone who liked that show.) |

I still say this: all of the reviewers (and I saw this a lot) that said, "Wow, what a great update of James Bond, finally bringing him and the series fully into the modern era"... how, exactly? By emasculating the great alpha male and killing him off? What was in the movie other than that that did that?

I've never found that appealing for me, personally. However, I get the appeal for men who like those movies. As you said, emasculating him and killing him off is a huge slap in the face for a character like Bond. As cheesy as it would have been, it would've been better if he had faked his death then driven off into the sunset with his love interest and daughter, because at least it would have had him 'win', and get what he wanted. I don't really see that as a super feasible ending for him either, just better than what NTTD did. |

No stones thrown here! I’m a huge Bond fan and have seen them all a dozen times and Moonraker is one of my favorites! It truly embraces its campy fun and shameless cash grab at the Star Wars craze! Just a fun movie in general!
