I really missed the youtube gravy train, if I made an account back in 2006 or so I would have been a millionaire by now. Now it's too late, as youtube is way too big and it's hard to get noticed unless you've been around a long time or find a specific niche people will want to watch.

I started in 2009, hence the '09' in the channel name. It was when the AVGN, Nostalgia Critic and Irate Gamer were new and I guess Fred was the top Youtuber at the time since he was actually appearing on TV and making movies.

I didn't know much about Youtube at the time except for gameplay walkthroughs which were fun to see parts of games I never got to see in full, and there were a lot more cat videos. I remember back then in the news every other week they would talking about a viral video about some cute animal doing some cute thing.

I honestly had no idea regular people could get paid on youtube until like 2013. I thought people just made videos as a hobby or for fun, and of course big websites/companies used them to advertise whatever show/movie/videogame was coming out. But I didn't know regular people could make money off it.

Yeah but the real money that gets you to completely live off of your Youtuber/Twitch-ness is the money from all the sponsors and such. That's why a lot of these guys self-censor themselves or try to not go against the leftist narrative. They literally can't afford to lose their sponsors, and the higher you get the top, the higher amount of people you have online that have literally nothing better to do than catch you whenever you slip and have 'the wrong opinion' so that they can snitch to the sponsors about you.
