The main question is, with this storyline adaptation will DC animated films be forced to a New 52 universe or can we just get various adaptations again?

They’ve been doing various comic adaptions along with the New 52 movies since the beginning. Superman Red Son just came out. Why are you acting like this hasn’t been happening the last few years?

They've been in a New 52 universe since Flashpoint Paradox. Word is this film will actually be a finale for this series and they'll reboot with the upcoming Man of Tomorrow movie

Rated R,huh? Some of the language used is unneccessary but perhaps the violence is amped up? I would prefer PG-13, but I guess this kind of film would not effect the audience much like a wide release theatrical film.

I figured they were gonna do something like this since New 52 is now "old news" for the brand synergy. That said, I think the attempt to hold each of these DC animated flicks to an ongoing continuity has actually helped add a sense of familiarity and consequence to the narratives that was noticeably lacking in previous movies (i. e., we need to earn that PG-13 for Superman: Doomsday so let's randomly kill off Toyman violently).

If these things had beautiful animation, even up to the bar of the Batman: Gotham Knight anime, I would own at least half of them. They all look stilted and boring to me.

Whenever I watch "Public Enemies" I get pissed they don't make 'em like that anymore.
Might not be the all-time best one, but it's the one I can put on and watch anytime. The last ten years have been more miss than hit, in my opinion.

Then again, DC has been pretty solid with their animated ventures for the past three decades, so. . . bring it on?

Sounds like the rumours of the line ending in it's current form are right. They talk of tying up plotlines and leaving absolutely no room for sequels

I didn't love this movie. But overall, I did enjoy this continuity of movies. I liked the character designs, I thought the movies featured very good vocal casts, and I found most of the stories to be entertaining.

Having seen neither, but going only based on Spoilers and Wikipedia, I can safely say I know which one I'd vastly prefer. So it's a true statement for some people.

I enjoyed the movie. Lots of Constantine in it same for Etrigan. Its dark and violent in parts that would give Zack Snyder a boner and it does stuff you wouldn't expect.
