FAA Will Now Hire Mentally Challenged People

From the Federal Aviation Administration’s website:

The Secretary of Transportation has set a hiring goal of three (3) percent per fiscal year for individuals with targeted (severe) disabilities.

Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the federal government, as a matter of policy, has identified for special emphasis in recruitment and hiring. The targeted disabilities are:

Hearing (total deafness in both ears)
Vision (Blind)
Missing Extremities
Partial Paralysis
Complete Paralysis, Epilepsy
Severe intellectual disability
Psychiatric disability
Dwarfism
Individuals with targeted disabilities have the greatest difficulty obtaining employment. This is the only protected group for which Federal agencies may have a hiring goal.

I mean it's against the law to discriminate based on whatever when you're hiring somebody, yet most businesses still do it. I doubt they're going to hire pilots who can't see, can't hear, have some kind of disability that disrupts their basic functions or ones missing body parts lol. There's more to the FAA than just pilots.

Of course. All states are "at will" states, meaning you can terminate anybody anytime for just about any reason with few exceptions. It doesn't do any good to hire people who you know can't do the job just to end up firing them in a month.

It's like saying there's more to the DMV than drivers. They don't have pilots, per se, they have instructors who FAA certify people, aircraft and equipment and teams of people sitting around in air traffic control rooms making sure that this doesn't happen:

It doesn't matter. The FAA is behind the woke curve of DEI that organizations are turning their back on in droves. These Federal Agencies will keep up the agenda push as Liberal's in office cling to their messaging in the hopes of capturing a new voting group.

Okay, the fact that the air traffic controller had to Google something that is required knowledge for that job is TERRIFYING.
