I'm sure it's been brought up in this thread, but I don't want to read the whole thing just to make sure: The TMNT do alot of un-Christian things...
They kill, Raph and Mikey drink, they don't pray, they cuss, ummmm they drive with no license I think God would rather me live with my girl friend than cut off my arch-enemy's head out of vengence. |

Oh I know they're good people (turtles). I was being half sarcastic, just pointing out that TMNT is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... not Noah's Arc: The Animated Series.

I don't know. I'd ask, but I'm afraid it will be and I'll look stupid!

I know at least one of you said you have kids, but with that one exception, most people that bring their kids to see TMNT don't want to see blatant immorality.
Now, don't make this an issue about the individual behaviors of the people on this board. Like the old song says', You're so vain you think this song is about you". It is soley on the message being prtrayed on the screen. Some have mentioned that such and such is worse than Casey and April being shackem ups, or Mikey drinks or they killed the Shredder etc. Those are really red harings, that do not address the perception of what a majority of the parents that are taking their kids to see TMNT have, and like it or hate it, perception is reality. Additionally, in the cartoon and the movie, they do not do those things or they do it in such a manner as to be able to reasonably assume they were doing something else, except for the Casey/April situation. The Superman movie had a lot of people upset about this too. Even if most people do not live up to these ideals, does not mean they want them disregarded, mocked and then have the opposite promoted and extolled. |

Not even close. There's only one reality, and we're all subject to it's consequences. The reason why we can't have peace in this world is because too many people believe this quote to be true. Everyone is inclined to assume that their own individual perceptions are reality, but that would make billions of different realities. So, anyhow, that's delusional thinking. Think that premarital cohabitation is as irresponsible or immoral as premarital sex, but please be sensible about it.

[QUOTE=Bircher;562353]Most people that bring their kids to see TMNT don't want to see blatant immorality.
QUOTE] That is true, pretty much all parents do not want their kids subjected to anything against their moral beliefs, but not every peson believes in the same morals which creates the problem. This cohabiting issue a fundamental christian point of view which is more commonly exercised in America which has a very strong link between government and fundamental christianity. The rest of the world does not share the same puritan Christian views since other countries either have a more mixed religous base, or a different dominant religion such as islam in many mid-eastern countries. So not everyone will find the same things immoral. Where I live the majority of young people are non-believers or Catholic, but even so if they are catholic they only follow the religion loosely and pre-marital sex is the normal standard and 99% of people actually do live with eachother before deciding to marry because that way they get to know if they really like that person enough to be willing to commit. And a growing population of people (such as myself) believe marriage is a thing of the past and believe that it only has tarditional values nowadays. The only reason i would ever marry is if my partner were to want it, I really couldn't care less either way. EDIT: I respect all other people's views on this matter and have no intention of upsetting anyone even if my views fall out of line with theirs. But I ask other people respect mine before labelling me a heretic or saying i'm going to hell or the like. Last edited by JaffleMan; 10-07-2007 at 05:24 AM. |

Who said that Casey and April were shacking up? What if they had seperate bedrooms? Or they were just bundling?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bundling_(tradition) What if they were just stay together because Casey needs to protect April and April bandages up Casey? Instead of saying "OMGzzzzzzzz! Casey and April are doin' it," think of what else they could be doing? Like splitting NYC apartment rent to make things cheaper.
