Real or fake? I'm gonna go with fake...although I could see why some may suspect a connection with the upcoming movie.

My personal opinion on the look: like others have mentioned it looks like it would be pretty tough to get some good emotional expressions out of that face, even with the cgi help. Although, if they overcame that and this ended up being how the turtles looked, I would be willing to accept it if it meant they were taking this movie a little more seriously. All said and done, I think they could do much better though.

I gotta say, I'm not fond of this look myself. It looks...cool...but it's not the TMNT for me. I do like the idea of it maybe being them mid-mutation or something, only thing there though is why does it already have a mask?

I'm not going to believe this to be true as it is a huge departure from the traditional/main stream TMNT style. That Turtle head looks scary and very unappealing for it's target audience, which is kids. If I'm wrong (highly unlikely) then the next TMNT film will be a horror movie.

Personally I'm hoping the final look of the TMNT for the new film will be more like how they appeared in the first live action film (but better due to tech/CGI advances).

As far as this is concerned, I've got to agree with Andrew - IF it's legit then it's probably only 1 of several mock ups they're doing to test the look of the TMNT.

As others have said, if they wanted to go with an extremely realistic look, this would be pretty good, but I doubt that's the route they want to take if they want the next TMNT film to be as big as the first Transformers was.

Viacom aren't stupid, they bought TMNT after seeing how much money the live action Transformers made. The 80s series is the most popular/well known and (please correct me if I'm wrong) it's already been said that they want to focus more on that version of the TMNT. This design just doesn't seem to fit with that strategy.
