saying you hate CGI covers a lot of stuff, more then just animated films. Most Hollywood movies got CGI in them one way or the other, everything from crowds to extra landscape.
many movies got CGI you wouldn't at first glance notice. like the entire scene from matrix reloaded, where trinity falls from the window, 100% CGI even the actor is replaced with a 3d model. |

I see many CGI movies copying a mix of Pixar and Dreamworks human design, which they often don't get quite right, seen it in some indie films as well.
but that particular style is easy to animate, and might also be based off a animator rigg called Lowmax and MAX. A link whit some lip sync made by a guy I know, he's a amazing 3D artist, and are top in class. he even excel the teachers, and make 3D characters so real it's awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_o1YKxK6zM |

I wouldn't say never. CGI wasnt TMNTs problem, it was pretty much everything else. And the future is a very very long time. If the turtles survive long enough, I'm pretty sure someone out there will give it another go. Plus, there's a chance that the CGI turtle series comin out might do some direct to DVD movie.

Opinion. I liked the designs in the CG movie over some of the stuff in the live action movies and especially anything in the 2k3 show.

ok, Well, Live Action Turtles, There's something about it that works with that incredibly well.
But CGI is especially hard on the Turtles, I think so anyways, Only because I can only imagine in any style, it will still make the turtles look awkard, It's especially the faces, and especially since they were trying to keep the "Mirage comic" Style to it. Which is why from what I herd that Nick is going to do a Computer animated TMNT series, and that I'm not look too forward to because of that reason. (And their Computer Animated series arent that...good. But their 2d shows are great! like Wolverine and the X-men and Avatar: The Last Airbender, which I hope they will change their minds to switch to 2d cuz it works well with the turtles better) So, 2d you can DEFENITLY get away with. But computer animation makes it a little harder. But to defend 07, I did like the character designs a lot, it was an interesting style. But live action still owns. But 2d would be nice too, in my opinion, even though if they're going to make a movie like that I'm sure it'd just go straight to DVD. :/ I mean, Even Disney is straying away from 2d and doing computer animated movies.

And CG effects today are where it's at.
Look at District 9. They had a somewhat limited budget and the effects looked great.

It's your opinion that they didn't look good for the 2007 movie, but you can't just say the entire medium of CGI doesn't work for Ninja Turtles. |

D9 got freebies from Peter Jackson's production company. That's the only reason it looks that good for so cheap.

That's so they don't have to worry about the uncanny valley (which is actually something studios care about.)

I'm talking about hand drawn animation vs. CGI animation when they use typical cartoon styling for characters.
