Generation of communists who were raised on Power Rangers and Beetleborgs with a core belief system that "we are all already special and exactly the same, in the same uniform, just in different variation and color".

No Heroes. Nobody stands out. Nobody strives to be more because there are no role models when you already are part of the variation.

Part of why My Little Pony was the greatest kids' show of the last 15+ years (Absolute Facts) was because they actively railed against that entire thing. They even did a whole two-parter on how giving up what makes you unique so that everyone is "perfectly equal" is very, very bad, and flipped the antagonist into a buddy later on after she learned the error of her "just make everyone the same, that's the ticket" ways.

I said out loud at the time how ballsy it was to do an entire kids' show arc about how "Being different and unique is much better than everyone being Exactly The Same", because yeah, it really does seem like the opposite narrative is what's being pushed and has been for some time now.

But then that show was 20 different flavors of brilliant anyways and people who dismissed it for whatever reason really did themselves a huge disservice.
