Shadowpact

So the big tease known as "Infinite Crisis" is over and the DCU got lots of new possibilities and new, old and revamped characters. Yesterday, the first issue of "Shadowpact" came out. Basically it's about a "magic JLA" solving stuff including magic.

In the first issue, Superman discovers a "bloodshield" around a small town. It's basically a bubble of blood enlarged to ginormous sizes and wrapped around a town. Now we all know that Supes doesn't stand a chance against magic, so he calls Green Lantern (that hack Hal Jordan who should stay dead) and GL tells him that he knows what it is, but has no idea how to get through. And then, out of nowhere, the Phantom Stranger appears and offers his help. The two humbled heroes agree and the Stranger summons the Shadowpact consisting of Ragman, Enchantress, Detective Chimp, Blue Devil, Nightshade and Nightmaster. He opens a magic portal to the inside of the shield but is unable to follow the Shadowpact inside. Once inside, the Shadowpact figures out that there appears to be nobody around until Enchantress finds Nightshade who tells her that she's violated the curfew and must die now.

I enjoyed the first series a lot, mainly because all the characters we meet, aside from Hal and Kal, are underdogs. We haven't heard from them in ages and I never heard of almost every single one of them. Ragman and Blue Devil I knew, but the others? While I'm not the biggest fan of magic out there, I still think that I'll like this series.

What do you all think about the first issue? Are you even interested in reading it? I mean, after all, nobody knows these characters...
