Guys, Guys

Ok I feel I have to ask this. I asked this as well on the Bishop to Knight board.

This is for the mature. I will ask A question that may offend, but take no offense cause I'm only curious.

I notice alot of people complaining about FF, heck I was one of them. I solely wanted them to tie up the loose ends somewhat before I could allow myself to enjoy TMNT:FF. The way it looks, they are in TLS. However, they are keeping alot of consistancies whereas I thought TMNT:FF was a stand alone thing. Very glad to see them keeping with the stories.

Now to my point at hand.

Why watch TMNT:FF if you can only complain about it? For real, I'm sure there are programs out there worth viewing and you save yourself alot of stress, getting riled up about how FF is failing in your eyes.

I liken it to a situation. I have been playing FFXI for 3 years now. While I like it, I want to quit cause MMO's are such a waste of life. However i's a FF and they have good stories so that's why I play. My friend talked me into trying WoW last night and I quit and uninstalled after hitting level 2. It was just boring and MMO's waste precious life. So not liking it I will avoid it altogether. Problem solved, I will never go around saying WoW sucked since it wasn't my cup of tea, I will just drop the whole thing like a bad habit, while not clowning on it.

Just curious why anyone wants to complain when they can save themselves the trouble... Man it sucks always being the curious one...

EDIT: One last thing. Just remember when watching FF that the Turtles will act a bit more goofy to appeal to kids, will say "It's Ninja Time" at least once an episode, Cody will be in it in some form, and Bishop isn't a bad guy (yet but he will be.) There is no escaping it. BOOGY BOOGY!

Oh and I have a thought about why the animation isn't as superb as 2k3 was. When they are hanging on their last threads, production will simplify itself to save money. Mirage and 4kids have no idea how well TMNT:FF will do, so I'm guessing to save some money, the animation won't be as good in quality as 2k3 was.

Now if FF does well, maybe they will put more effort into it. Just a guess however.

I don't like it but I can at least tolerate it. That's all I got to say. The Lost Season, however, I'm loving it. Can't wait for that to get going again!

This is a forum for everyone to share their thoughts, right? You can't have positive feedback only

You know what, there whouldn't be a Lost Season if 4Kids weren't money hungry assholes and if kids had some TASTE. But every kid is raised on Blue Clues and pee themselves when they see violence now. So violent programs aren't "Cool" to kids anymore.

I grew up on violent crap and I love it. I love violent movies, I love blood, I love gore, I love watching people beat the **** out of one another. That stuff is great. I see my cousin, the average kid, he sees power rangers and about craps his pants because their fighting and that scares him. He was rasied to FEAR violence. What is that crap? He's 6 years old and he's afraid of violence. It sickens me.

So he won't watch TMNT or Power Rangers or any of those shows that younger boys usually watched*Or atleast did when I was a kid* because his parents raised him to be a complete wuss. So he'd probly love Fast Forward because it's TMNT that looks happy and has no violence in it.

Oh I totally agree Spitfire. My mother never cared what I played as a kid. I never gave her much reason to distrust me (even though she never knew I was sneaking out to go see chicks.)

I love my cartoons violent too, and games. Nothing wrong with it as long as it's entertainment.

My kids will be allowed to see violent stuff hell my 4 year old loves Freddy Krueger, but I make sure I am always around to tell him that knives kill people, guns are bad if not fake, and that any blood you see on TV is only corn syrup.

Good parenting leads to mature kids with the mindset to handle all the violence and know enough that it is all fake.

We have to keep in mind this is on a cartoon block called 4Kids. That means that it's for kids, not adults. We are just along for the ride, it's really for the kids.

Now, to solve this problem they should make a mature TMNT cartoon and put it on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. The problem would be solved then.

My point is the newer TMNT wouldn't have to be toned down if kids these days weren't such wusses.

And anyways I'll be taking care if that hopefully.

Hmm... even the blood shown on the news?

Hmm... this statement scares me. Really. You mean - all the violence?

What would you like to see in that "mature TMNT cartoon"?

Boy could I tell ya some interesting things. But I wanna keep it to surprise. So by 4 years from now there is a huge story that we can work with. We got a good story cooking up already.

For one it's going to have killing in it. Lots of it. Foot soilders won't be thrown into trash cans and get knocked out. Their going to get stabbed and bleed. Shredder will be decapped, for real this time. No robot cover up crap. I plan to follow the orginial Mirage comic as cloesly as I can but at the same time find creative ways to toss in characters from all over the TMNT universe. That means from Verminator X to yes even Krang. An evil Uthrom would be a good idea. We also want to add new twists on old characters like Bebop and Rocksteady.

What I would like to see in the mature TMNT cartoon is this:

1. More serious tone.
2. More action in the fighting, not bloody and gory stuff though.
3. No more goofy filler episodes like 'Garbage Man.'

More violence, more adult oriented situations, humor and dialogue that more compliments those who are mature. I'm assuming that's what was meant. Not necessarily doing things like that simply because they could, but moreso giving us a more unfiltered, "realistic" look at the subject. I think everyone here would like to see that, and who knows, it could even be a hit among people who were fans back in the day but never stayed with it or got back into it like we did. But as long as there's a children's TV show to associate it with, I wouldn't hold my breath for something like taht. It'd end up having to be yet another revival several years down the road.

Yeah, thats what I mean.

I'm not talking about 'Kill Bill' blood spraying Foot ninjas missing heads, or April nude, or Raph saying the f word.

Interesting concept Spitfire - looking forward to it.

I'd like to see some more serious tone too. Real time killing (and remorse coming from it), evil Splinter, more serious and mature dialogues.

And love. Love that cannot be requited in this case.

Spitfire's concept sounds awesome.

But I don't think "kids are wusses" is the reason people don't want violence on kids' shows. The idea that witnessing violence increases the odds of being violent is pretty much a scientific fact, backed up by all sorts of psychological studies. That said, it sucks that people are so afraid of everything. Maybe it's just human to be afraid... but it's so pervasive these days, it's ridiculous.

The 87 series was much less violent than 2K3, in terms of fighting live enemies. The turtles fought mostly robots. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think anyone died except when TPTB left Baxter to get eaten by the spider, and that was only implicit. The implicit body count of 2K3 is off the charts. I am still frankly quite amazed that they got away with 2K3 for so long. I've heard lots of people compare FF to the 87 series, but to me they're not alike at all. In terms of violence, FF is worse than 2K3 because all consequences of violence seem to have been removed.
