Need help finding high interest science books
Hi everyone
I am hoping that everyone might be able to help me with an assignment that is not hard to do. I need a list of high interest books that are related to my discipline....science. They can be popular science novels such as Jurassic Park or other science fiction novels. They need to create interest into science. My grade levels are middle and high school. I will greatly appreciate it.

I, Robot by Isaac Asimov would be an excellent addition to this text set.
Go with Star Wars, October Sky, perhaps you could work in some Spider-Man comics (he's a scientist.) |

Any of Asimov's short stories would probably be good. I think his novels are a little... much.
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ... can lead into pretty much any discussion you want haha The Martian Chronicles ... anything by Bradbury, probably Are you going to have them read these? Or are they just examples?

Thank you so much, Voltron and Iris.
The books for my list need to be related to my discipline, science, books that I can recommend to students and/or discipline-related materials that I can use to create interest in science. So essentially, these are examples that students could read to get them interested in the subject.

There are some lists online that I have used before. Here are a couple:
http://www.nsta.org/ostbc http://www2.ku.edu/~sfcenter/sflib.htm And there are a whole lot more lists here: http://www.seemore.mi.org/booklists/index.html hth People ask me that question sometimes because they want to get their kids interested in science, but since I've always been interested in science I kinda don't know how to answer. I think fun stuff like Hitchhiker's Guide is really a good starting place. A lot of people also seem to like Ender's Game.

Iris, you are helping me a bundle. There are tons of books out there but it can be difficult to determine if the book would be good for a science classroom.
I have an interesting book on my shelves that would be good for my list... Science in Popular Culture. For instance, mutations, the chapter talks about X-men, Fantastic Four, and of course, our favorite.
