What was your opinion of Spider-Man Unlimited?

I thought the series was great. I want to collect all the comics. It's a shame Marvel squashed it. (I'm talking about the 1999 animated show).

The series was a pile of nonsensical s*ite that was hastly written by Micheal Reeves on crack without much care and attention, and animated on a budget that made Uwe Boll look like Speilberg chruning out three ETS at once, but the comics at least tried a few decent things like using Gwen Stacy, Wolverine, and The Chamelion.

Rino Ramano was the one good thing about the show. At least they had Spidey actually moving in more of a Spidey like way. Jumping, crouching, crawling, flipping, etc. They really should have just gone with Spider-Man 2099 instead of copping out before the movie.

This show is what got me interested in the character, and it was NOT a nonsensical pile of sh*te. Even if it WAS, it should have ended with some kind of closure telling whether or not Spidey does actually get home to "our" Earth. TMNT Fast Forward could end up just like this show, and its a shame. It's all because ppl reject new ideas for characters.

With that, I conclude with saying that I am a proud fan of this show.

Venom and Carnage set of Spider-Man's spider sense. Then later in the series the man himself points out they don't.

I thought it was awsome when I first saw it, I still luagh at some of the jokes, and I have a soft spot for that animation style as well as their design for the traditonal costume.

But on a story front it really was just too sci fi for Spidey.

People did'nt like the ideas in Unlimited because the ideas were bad to begin with. By throwing in a confusing, convulted plot with familiar faces rather than tell a new series with different characters such as with Spider-Man 2099, it upset the dynamic and insulted the audience by not telling them what the f*ck was going on.

The point was for it to be a reimagined screwed up version of "our" Earth. I though that it had great social commentary, too, and story lines that are far deeper than any TMNT FF episode that I have seen. And, if the show had been allowed a decent chance to finish, Spidey would have ended up back on Earth in Mary Jane's loving arms anyway. It should have just been a fun journey that he had and then walked away from. But the show was canceled and now...continuity sucks.
